What travellers are saying
- Roland PLima, Peru36 contributionsThe Polo Shopping Center is very well located, right next door to some of the best specialized hospitals and clinics. It also has a great Gym for working out. Also is only a few blocks from a local Market and a Vivanda Market (Grocery Store).
This is the place where classy ladies go shopping. It has some of the best clothing and accessories shops in Lima.
The restaurants in the area are all very good.
The plaza (that is me in the picture) has a few sidewalk cafes, like Micky Dees, Dunking Donuts and other cafes, more classy ones.
Although it has 3 rows of stores, notice that there is another shopping mall next door, that you can reach through El Polo Avenue (in the back).
If you are a Polo enthusiast (the actual sport), the Lima Polo Club is located behind the Embassy and it is open to the public on major polo championships. (The embassy grounds used to be part of the Polo Club).
To get there, just take a city bus from Miraflores (2 soles fare) and leave the driving to someone else. Parking is plentiful and I believe free (with validation).
There is a huge underground parking lot under the building next door, but unless is rush hour, there is plenty of parking.
Lots of regular locals hang out and on weekends, there are free activities (like street shows). Great for an early Saturday night outing.Written 20 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - mikesierraBourne, UK1,995 contributionsA comprehensive market with small units selling all the usual souvenirs and typical tourist stuff. Small locally-made woollen rugs are good value. There are also good washrooms for which a nominal fee is charged.Written 26 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- rocio qRiverside, CA6 contributionsWe went this past january to gamarra. Which is like a market place where you can find many things for very cheap. It's a little crazy going there so please be aware that this is not a good area of Lima to be at so you need to leave your jewelry and expensive cell phone at home and carry your purse right next to you and just the necessary stuff. But it's worth the time to go.Written 11 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- rowdygirl00Hilton Head, SC189 contributionsInca Market is a fun spot to look for gifts. It is a mix of cheap, tourist items and quality Peruvian crafts. Negotiate prices and you can get a fair deal. You'll find nearly everything you could want, particularly t- shirts, purses, sweaters and scarves.Written 25 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- adsum_12Ottawa, Canada114 contributionsA good mix of Peruvian stores mixed with those you could find anywhere. We’ve been coming here for over a decade and have few complaints. There are a couple of local faster food places, a cinema with English language films (or at least subtitled) and it has been safe for us to use the banks and cell phone stores. The grocery store has a good selection of harder to find items and sometimes decent fish. It’s popular with the locals so usually fairly crowded. Well worth a visit.Written 30 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- The suitcase scaleTel Aviv, Israel59 contributionsThanks to my son who is a fan of some japanese game, we ended up going to this center which turned out to be all about Japanese manga , cards, figures. There is lots of Japanese fast food and in general it is fun.Written 30 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jo CEstes Park, CO160 contributionsHands down this is one of the cleanest markets we've been to while overseas anywhere. They have everything you need there. We visited on a tour with Lima Gourmet Company.Written 3 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LucioLima, Peru106 contributionsI visited this place with my brother. We tried makis, which were simply ok. The place seemed modern and well organized, much like Real Plaza Salaverry. Still, not as cool as Jockey Plaza.Written 29 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Fredrix C25 contributionsNice place for a quick cheap Menu (12s/ =4$) at noon or for fruit/meats/fish the whole day.... CleanWritten 7 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Diego TorresLima, Peru9 contributionsThis place is absolute magic. My favorite place in Lima. You have live music almost every night, the best terrace were you don't hear any traffic noise, great coffee, and very good art.Written 21 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ruthandvernWilton, CA14,524 contributionsWe were searching for a pair of sandals for Vern, there were none. The stores were busy enough and although the prices were retail it is still a shopping opportunity. There are four eateries and we lunched in La Baguette. It appears to be a popular luch spot for workers, by 1pm they were packed. We did get a new wireless mouse by RadioShack.Written 6 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- meli13meloKeene, NH111 contributionsI've been here before during one of my Lima visits. It wasn't as popular then, but definitely something I found awesome. It was very busy this time around and I am glad to see that organic food and products are getting more attention. Came here for breakfast and left with a full belly of delicious food.Written 23 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Uschi H13 contributionsWhile in Barranco we went to Jade Rivera's gallery to see and by one of his beautiful pieces. The place is in the center of Barranco, next to the bridge of sights and the entrance is free. Visit his gallery is a must do if you love art.Written 26 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- senorheathMassachusetts434 contributionsWe stayed a day in downtown Lima and found this craft market. There are dozens of stalls and stores, with good quality crafts, woolen items, etc. basically the same stuff you will see in Cusco and elsewhere. I found the prices to be as good as or better than Cusco or Pisac. You could just as easily get your fill of craft items here, instead of lugging them from Cusco. Most of the vendors will bargain with you.Written 9 September 2011This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
