Just to say a huge thank you to Kyle of Falkland Outdoors for the most amazing visit to Volunteer Point, a nature reserve, a definite must visit while in the Falklands. You can spend hours watching the King Penguins some incubating the eggs some just sauntering around and even a chick born last year who had yet to grow his feathers. The beautiful sandy beach which is 2 miles long had Penguins going for a dip and those returning. It was mesmerising.. Even when heavy rain started it was hard to drag oneself away.
Thank you Kyle for your company.

It was amazing how close you could get to the elephant seals and penguins.
We were asked to stay at least 2 meters from the penguins but no one told that to the penguins and they would come closer as they traveled from the nesting area to the ocean. The road to the nesting area was a long and bumpy dirt road but it was worth it as there was only our 2 vehicles there. Our driver would answer any questions but it would have been more appreciated if he has volunteered some of the information instead of waiting for us to ask questions.

Fantastic tour! Our guide Tony was an all-star, so knowledgeable and so nice. He met us right off the cruise ship, waiting for us. Watching the penguins colony up close was something we will never forget. We had a sunny day so the scenery was spectacular, The little town of port Stanley was charming, strong British flavor.

Our guide Paul was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the area, joked around with us, great sense of humor. Took us to 2 different penguin colonies, stopped when we wanted to take pictures on side of road. He even went out of his way to show us different areas around the city we had questions about. Definitely recommend this company and request Paul again

We visited the Falkland Islands on a Quark Antarctica Adventure. We actually spent two days in the Islands, but slept each night on our ship. We were transported to the islands by Zodiac. We really hit it lucky because Princess Anne was visiting Stanley on Veteran's Day to lay a wreath at the War Memorial. The whole town was there, and there was still front row room to see the princess and the ceremony. We also went to Gypsy Cove where I saw several beautiful birds, but NO penguins. Others saw penguins; I guess I just didn't go far enough. The beach at Gypsy Cove is stunning ... a beautiful shade of aquamarine and pure white sand. We had gorgeous weather; one day it was in the high 60s. I loved the little town of Stanley; it was just delightful. We had lunch in a cute little cafe and did lots of souvenir shopping as it was our last port in civilization!

1.5 hours over rough roads to get there, no naturalists, no one protecting the penguins from tourists acting like idiots and chasing the penguins :(

Rob was an amazing tour guide. He made our experience at Stanley unforgettable. He was incredibly knowledgeable about both the history and natural history of the falkland islands. He pointed out many species of birds, not just penguins. He also provided home, made lunch with coffee and homemade cookies. At the end of the tour, he even gave us four penguin souvenirs and postcards. Rob even gave us extra time on bertha's beach because he knew how much we loved the penguins. At the end of the tour, he even gave us a brief city tour. We cannot recommend rob enough, he really put in the personal touch, and we will remember that trip four years to come!

We all had wonderful time with the King penguins, Gentu penguins & elephant seals.
Kaps is a great tour guide who provided lot of information about the flora & fauna of Stanley and made the trip very interesting. He also drove through the town and showed some important tourist attractions. The locally made sandwiches were excellent. Highly recommend this tour.
