Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a tough gig as we did the tour the day before CNY, but we were taken to some very local and old tea houses which were beautiful, as well as to Man Mo temple with information about how it all works - I have lived in HK for a long time and learned so much about HK i didnt know before. Thank you, it was great!

This trip is although considered as a "tourist" trip - it is by far better than what it sounds like. The boat takes 2 hours going from Central Pier 9 to Aberdeen (old fishing village) and back. The Dim Sum that is served is anything touristic - it is very very good Dim Sum by all standards - so no worry about the "tourist cheat" trap that one often encounters. Here you are really treated very well and well fed "! I highly recommend the tour - it is super relaxing and a real fun drive !

The trip was excellent throughout, made extra special by our wonder guide Mel. The food was exceptional, better than many of the much more expensive restaurants in Central, and hearing the insights of Mel on the history and development of Hong Kong and its people was enlightening. This was then topped off by watching the light show at the end of the day. Highly recommended.

Edward took us to places we never would have gone on our own, and introduced us to Hong Kong foods such as fried milk squares and salty egg chicken wings along with six other delicious tastes at local spots. We couldn’t finish all the dishes. Along the way we walked through non-touristy neighborhoods, took a fast and fun ride in a minibus and observed the locals going about their day. We visited a market and saw all kinds of food for sale like frogs, pig trotters, and snakes. The tour was a wonderful introduction to Hong Kong. Edward answered all our questions and set a pace that was comfortable for us two seniors. We highly recommend a tour with Edward.

Maria was an excellent guide! We’ve had lots of local treats and she told us everything about the food which you can buy at the market in Wan Chai. She told us some history about Wan Chai and Hongkong as well.

She brought some sanitised earphones with her so we could hear her talk when walking down the busy and loud streets which was super useful!

Ps. Make sure you are very hungry before the tour, we couldn’t eat all of the treats because we were full at the end. Although we could take it with us and microwave it at the hotel!

Thank you Maria, it was a delicious afternoon!

Our guide was Mel, a very patient man who knew the area perfectly and spoke excellent English. We've been to HK before, but Mel opened our eyes to the wonders that can be lying just off the beaten path or around the corner from the familiar. Besides showing us the best markets for shopping like Fok Wing market and Pekho Street market (no tourist trap markets like Temple Street, these are the real deal), we had an absolutely amazing time trying the local dishes that have won either a Michelin star or other awards for the best in the world. Our favorites included the rice rolls at Hop Yik Tai, and the dumplings made in front of you at Yuen Fong by a sweet old lady. I could go on and on, but you just have to experience it for yourself. Mel also told us about HK in general, opened our eyes to the culture and the struggles they face, and explained life from their point of view for different providences. It was a very, very enlightening tour and I recommend it to no end. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an excellent food tour with Jane! We went to multiple places and tried many types of food, including dim sum, spring rolls, buns, hot tea, won ton noodle soup, iced milk tea, roasted meat (pork) and an egg tart. Most of the places were Michelin-recommended and the food quality was excellent and plentiful! Jane also provided a great deal of interesting information related to Hong Kong and its people. Could not recommend enough!

I booked this tea tasting for my boyfriend’s birthday, and we had the best day! Vivian was the loveliest host, she knows so much and loves to get to know people. I was a little uncertain about tea before, it wasn’t my thing, but my partner enjoys it. I’m now a total convert because Vivian gave me so much advice about how to brew and taste it properly. We tasted amazing teas, were taken step by step through the process (Vivian is super experienced, first-hand) and went way over our lesson time just because we were so engaged. This is by far the best class to take when visiting Hong Kong, even if you live here and are looking for something new. Thank you, Vivian!

It was a very good experience! We went first quickly to the market to buy the pork so it can be as fresh as possible. Then we went at her place to cook! The dumplings were delicious thanks again 😊😊👍🏼 I totally recommend.

We met close to the market, had a wonderful tour there and then went to the cooking studio, modern and well equipped.
We learned so much about the dishes we prepared , prepared some ourselves and had a delightful meal.
Not just the cooking but learning about the ingredients and the food in hong kong in general.
Fun experience and very highly recommended!

We had 3 days in Hong Kong and despite having some difficulty getting places and doing things because of the riots the food tour still went on. It was the best thing we did.
It was fantastic. Our guide William did not stop talking, he was simply wonderful. We tried every type of food that I wouldn’t have known to buy and went to places we never would have stopped in. We learnt about the history and the people’s culture from 400 years ago to modern times. You’re missing out if you don’t do this tour.
