No words could describe this place. It's one of those places that you have to experience for yourself. Great Guide

The highlight for me was a herd of 10 elephants coming at midnight to drink at the water hole, and hearing them move around in the quiet under the stars was so special! Thank you to Polycarp for a great safari and Martha for a relaxing massage. Excellent service and buffet too

I really liked this little day trip. My driver was so friendly and so was the old town tour guide. I learned so much about Mombasa in general. I would recommend to anyone! I did spend too much on spices though. I am technically a Kenya Citizen right now, so I think this is a bit over priced but it is all around a good time and would tell people to do this!

A great insight into the history of Mombasa and the fort via a spectacular sound and light show. A must see when in Mombasa.

Driver and city guide was excellent and very considerate of our limitations. Fort Jesus is an interesting experience.

Humphrey was so incredibly knowledgeable, truly an expert in Mombasa's history. But more than that, he was so kind! I cannot recommend his tours enough.

Antony was our guide on a very hot April day. He was very responsive before the tour, adjusting it to accommodate our quite inpatient toddler. He was really knowledgeable about the old town, Fort Jesus. Parts of the tour dealing with slavery were particularly emotive and interesting. Antony was also great at explaining and answering questions about culture, the local people and even politics (as it's election season). He is also just a really interesting and patient man (which was necessary when our daughter was disruptive). We would really recommend this guide not just for facts but also for an experience.

Your trip to Mombasa City cannot be complete without visiting the Fort Jesus. As UNESCO puts it, it's one of the most outstanding and well preserved examples of 16th Portuguese military fortification and a landmark in the history of this type of construction.

Besides history, there are plenty of other things to see and do in and around Fort Jesus. You can explore the narrow streets of Mombasa Old Town, enjoy the beautiful scenery, try out local cuisines, etc. You can also get a bird's view of the ocean right from Fort Jesus.
