Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- don pSydney, Australia234 contributionsCheck the day before using the ferry , for cancellations , it seems the 10.30 trip to Insien on weekends is permanently cancelled , for a good day out , after getting to Insien terminal get a taxi to Insien station on the circle line , 2000 Kyat , have the name of the station written in Burmese , not much English spoken in the burbs , or it is a 90 + minute walk ,
1 hour by train back to Yangon CentralWritten 18 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - ib0sh0wLondon, UK102 contributionsI was advised by my tour rep from the night market tour to go with him but I didn't have the time to Waite for him. As soon as I got to the ferry I was approached by a young fella who spoke dubiously good English, I saw it coming a mile away. He got us two taxi motorcycle we got one each sat on the back, he took me to some not so great pogodas, and he took me to the interesting parts that I wanted to see, real locals living in poverty, tiny huts no shoes. Kids dogs everywhere, it looks sad, taking water out of a dirty looking small lake. There's some sort of charity thing where you buy a sack of rice and they give it to the locals, I said I will buy half for £20! This is not compulsory you can just say no thanks. apparently this gets donated to local community!! I have no way of confirming. I just hope it does these people have no shoes. At the end we got back to the harbour just over an hour. I said how much for the bikes! They said 30,000kyt whatever, after some fake haggling on my part I gave them the money. Went towards the boat and said to the young dude who showed me around how much do you want he said what do you wanna give I said 10000 he said 20k, after some more fake haggling on my part I gave him the 20k.
In total the whole thing cost me around £50 with the donated rice money.
It was an amazing experience and well worth it. Even if I was ripped off. The reality is if your a local and you know what your doing bla bla you could get it done for £5. I was only there for 3 days and in my opinion it was well worth seeing, bottom line is I went in knowing they were gonna rip me off, £50 is not a bad rip off considering I did actually get to see what I wanted to within 2 hours.Written 13 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TinaCharlotte, NC4 contributionsWe hired Zaw back in December 2019 while in Yangon for a few days. He took us to all the sites in Yangon and also a day trip to Golden Rock. His driving was always very safe, he's friendly, and knew where everything was. He was also very responsive if we called him during off hours about a question or needed translation. We were glad to find Zaw on here and hope to return back one day and use his services again.Written 18 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were lucky to have Wai Yan as our driver guide for the whole 8 days tour, he is a careful driver and a knowledgeable guide, he showed us all the wonderful places and told us the related history and culture of Myanmar. The whole trip was well organized and the car was good and comfortable.

- daveasmith1002 contributionsI was first introduced to and travelled with Happy go Yangon in 2015 and have continued to book trips since. Mr Winbo is polite , courteous and extremely honest. He is a very safe and experienced driver / guide ( I have been on five trips with Happy go Yangon ). Mr Winbo is a Buddhist and has extensive knowledge regarding the Buddhist religion and the temples , monasteries and pagodas of Myanmar .
All in all I highly recommend Happy go Yangon for all trips planned for Myanmar.
Covid lock downs permitting I shall be booking a trip for the coming season .

He gave us an incredible full day tour and arranged all the sights for us (the only place I had in mind was the Shwedagon Pagoda and I asked him to choose his other favorite places). We visited some of the highlights but my favorite part was all the non-touristy places we went to, including an incredible wet market along with some temples that were in the process of being built and really interesting! He speaks great English and was super helpful with planning our entire Mynamar itinerary prior to our visit. Prices are also extremely reasonable especially considering you get a guide and driver in one! Would definitely recommend sending him a WhatsApp in advance of your Myanmar trip and seeing if he can guide you around. Thank you Sai!Written 28 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Suzie S2 contributionsMr Amyo, is very punctual and informative. Prior to my arrival we spoke through messaging and customize my tour. We hit several landmarks and I learnt allot about their history. I felt very safe learning about local way of life as well as the tourist stuff. I visited the local fruit market had exotic fruits, and had lunch at a superb restaurant. He is a great tour guide and an excellent photographer "smiles" making my trip more memorable. You can email him at amyotun03@gmail.com. Thanks Mr. Amyo!Written 18 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mathieu BBrussels, Belgium12 contributionsWe met Yelintun by accident while leaving the airport and taking it as a taxi to drop us off at our hotel. Yelintun was directly friendly and spoke to us with passion and love for his country and culture.
He gave us his number and suggested we call him for our trips to Yangon. The next day we had a custom tour of the city and Yelintun showed us all the places to see and spoke to us with a lot of knowledge of his city.
He helped us and advised us to book our night bus and gave us contact from several friends to him all over the country.
Yelintun is our first real friend in Myanmar and no need for more time to understand that she is really a beautiful person.
I really recommend it. his nickname is Zidane and he is undoubtedly as strong as the football player on yangon roads!Written 23 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The free boat trip in Bagan offered to all customers was appreciated and the other 2 buses booked through JJ-Express were very good.Written 1 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
