Yesterday, 4 of us had afternoon tea at Emirates Palace. We had previously visited there 3 years ago, and loved every minute of it. This time, it was sadly lacking, in all areas! We waited almost 1 hour for food of any kind, had luke warm tea beforehand, which they never topped up, unless you made a point of getting up to go ask them, and then they brought out these horrible mushroom & cheese, and lobster and smoked salmon mini sandwiches...too spicy and horrible to eat. The blueberry infused tea they gave us was lovely though, but that was the only highlight. We kept asking for the usual afternoon tea fare of scones and finger sandwiches, clodded cream, etc, but it was 2 hours later before it finally appeared on our table! There were no tiers of food, like a proper English tea, and each plate could not fit on our table, so our plates were on the floor! Honestly, the whole experience was so miserable, we will never go back for afternoon tea there again!! A truly sad and disappointing afternoon!!
