Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Shanna S1 contributionDidn't expect the artist to be there: genuine, extremely kind and so lovely.
If you're looking for beautiful and fine art calligraphy drawings for yourself or as gifts, this shop is the perfect one.Written 31 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In the heart of an industrial area is this gem that holds some treasures; ALIA's work is beautiful to look at. But then then there's the overall venue which hosted a film project for us. It works very well. It has a large footprint which is kept nice and cool, a quaint and beautiful coffee shop, and a library area that would be very suitable for a themed backdrop. I highly recommend this venue whether you want to use it for an event or simply want to enjoy some great art. Their general manager, Hasan Al Lawati is also very professional and accommodating. Glad that such a space exists.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Izvara N49 contributionsThis place is unique because I haven't seen many Photography club museums . They display stunning photos which are captured by professional photographers . It's a great place for amateur photographers to visit and learn tips and angles and explore more about photography .Written 5 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BelleraphonLos Angeles, CA150 contributionsIf you want shopping in Muscat, then here is the place to start. Unlike the souk in Muttrah this is all the real stuff. Well worth a visit. Located in a shopping/dining area between the Intercontinental hotel and the sea. The area is a must do on the tourist trail but the locals come down in the evening too. There are 4 shops inside the complex selling more craftware closer to what you will get in the souk. Haggling essential. All around are some great places for dining, some alfresco with sea views. Opposite are the best independent shops for dates, cigars and tea. Ample parking and always taxi's out front & on the "hop on hop off" Big Bus route. 500 meters walk away is also the Bareeq mall. Here you will find several shops selling world renowned branded goods at unbelievably low prices.Written 22 January 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 70avaBeijing, China1,002 contributionsAt the beginning, we thought it must be a waste of money to spend 3OMR per person to see another restored house. However, the place is impressive, and the restoration was nicely done. Moreover, the guide can be quite helpful provided you ask questions. If not, it will end up quickly. We enjoyed the the serenity and the peacefulness of the place as well as the interesting architecture and complexity of the building.Written 12 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vitaliia StriletsZurich, Switzerland3 contributionsThis gallery is contemporary, modern and its really unique, because it represents the best Omani contemporary artists of different ages. They have Grant programs for young graduates, who work on researches and experimental art.
as well, the represent the best Omani artists and international as well. They have a hudge art collection in their Showroom, i was surprised to find there representing artists from Europe, USA, Middle East, Asia. Artworks are of different media, and styles, you can find surrealism, figurative art, abstract and more, and the most impressive is how local Master-artists work with color, subject and object. The Omani traditional colors enrich the artworks with a new relationship between modern vision and authentic Omani language. its really differs from what i saw in other GCC countries.
I love to collect art from different countries and from Stal Gallery I collected the art of an established Omani Artist Hassan Meer. First time i discovered his art in Switzerland couple years ago, and than I found him in Christie's auction in Dubai.
Gallery is located in the city center, in environment there are a lot of restaurants- traditional and international, and it's close to seaside and hotels. Gallery Manager is a highly professional person, Dr.Meera, her art advisory, hospitality, and local guidelines - made my day and memories.Written 5 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The art there is traditional, full of emotion, and absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend it if you prefer to have art as souvenirs.
We were lucky enough to walk in when the artist, Murtada was there. He was very welcoming, and got the opportunity to experience calligraphy in the making. It was a pleasure to meet him.
We left with a very special piece of art, that is very dear to my husband and I. We even framed it there itself.Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
