Assalaam alaykum. I had waited for years to visit and I was really excited. My husband and I first prayed and obviously we expected to be able to do that separately. However, having seen people from all over the globe take vids/photos together, we then tried to gain entry as a couple in order to take photos that will be cherished.. only to be told that only TURKISH women can enter the main part, or if you’re with a guided tour! Huh? I watched as a blond without hijab came out with a guy sparking up a cig.. again I spoke to the guard “you mean these people can go in together, but a revert couple from the U.K. with adab and hijab can’t? 🤔 Anyway, we walked away happy in the end, knowing that actually we kept the adab of men and women entering the masjid separately and praying separately. We believe that is more pleasing ☝️

I recommend getting a guide for the visit. The history associated with it is remarkable. It truly resembles those iconic locations, such as the Grand Canyon, where photographs cannot fully convey the scale and splendor.

The Sultan Ahmet District is a must visit place in Istanbul, you can feel the real vibes of Istanbul. Many historical places are located here like Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Hagia Sofia Mosque and other places. You can enjoy Turkish food & delights and buy souvenir from the traditional Bazaars around the area.

Always visit during day time and avoid Friday prayer time.

Simply amazing. History, culture, and architecture rolled into one. Located just off the bustling Eminönü Quarter/Egyptian or Spice Bazaar, it's a masterpiece. Step inside and marvel at the ceilings and dome in silence - you might come to appreciate it more. Don't forget to give your neck a break!

We opted for the all-inclusive ticket, which gave us access to the Selamlik, the beautiful gardens, the mysterious Harem, and the fascinating Art Museum. The Baccarat crystal staircase was a sight to behold. Nice adventure.

Galata Tower Istanbul 11/25/2024 When you walk and ascend from the beginning of the Bosphorus intersection to enter the city to the Taksim area, you will find the great tower, galata Tower, which was built during the Middle Ages, the Byzantine period. It is a tower of great beauty. It was formerly called the Tower of Christ. It was used in ancient times during the time of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent as a prison for workers. When you go and see this wonderful tower and how it overlooks many corners of Istanbul, you will find in the same area many gift shops, restaurants and popular coffee. When you finish, you can continue on to the famous Taksim Street in Istanbul. Qalta Tower is worth visiting for those who love history and ancient heritage.

Changing of the guard is every hour and worth seeing. The whole place is spotless and comes with a number of rules - no eating, drinking or smoking. Worth spending 90mins or so here.

I had a great time visiting Istiklal Caddesi in Istanbul with my friends. The lively atmosphere, rich history, and diverse shops made it an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed exploring the bustling streets, savoring delicious street food, and immersing ourselves in the cultural vibe. The blend of traditional and modern elements created a unique charm that kept us engaged throughout the day. The tram ride was a highlight, adding a nostalgic touch to our trip. Istiklal Caddesi truly captures the essence of Istanbul, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the city.

Göreme was an epicenter of early Christianity, it also featuring painted cave churches. The rupestrian churches date from the 10-11th. century and include Tokalı Kilise and El Nazar Kilise , St. Barbara , Saklı Kilise , Karanlık Kilise . .. . The otherworldly fairy chimneys are impressive. The park is a unique spot, not to be missed. Prepare for at least 2 hours of walk with a lot of matchless sights (it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985). I found also the "Dark Church" remarkable because of the way in which it preserved the beauty of the celebrated frescoes. Nevertheless, if you are not curios/passionate about the subject, it is better not to pay the additional ticket.
Prom a practical perspective, the landmark is easily to be found and has a parking There were several very commercial stores while I expected to find something authentic craft objects. A little crowded in the morning with longer waiting lines for the ticket purchase. If you feel the need for a guide, you can find an authorized one inside. We did not go with this opting (as we have done some reading prior to the visit) but there were several groups which seemed pleased with the service. There is a cafe and a museum shop inside so you can have a coffee and a drink.

A visit to Ortakoy is always a lovely outing and it is wonderful to spend time along the Bosphorus and explore the various arts and crafts for sale there . And there is nice places for coffee breaks and remember to try the famous Turkish Kumpir ( stuffed potatoes) . You can take the tram to Kabatas and then the bus to Ortakoy , but the busses is sometimes very crowded on the way back. It was easier for me to take the Ferry from Eminonu to Ortakoy.
