Excellent palace. Be aware of lots of stairs small, large and rough. Lovely to see bird life chickens and cats all living in harmony in the grounds

If you have nothing else todo then go for a walk around the old town. Follow the walking route. Not much to see - few ruins amongst newly built shops/restaurants so you can easily miss then. Harbour is nice for a meal stop. There are daily tours to the lower Duden waterfalls (10 euros) from the harbour too. Point to note if at Hadrians gate walk underneath it then up the steps and keep going straight past the pub/bar area until you get to the sea for sunset - breathtaking view!

We really enjoyed our holiday in Alanya. We stayed in kleopatra Ramira, a fantastic 4* hotel. The staff and owner took real pride in the hotel, and whilst it's always easy to find fault if you want to, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and felt we got fantastic value for money.
The hotel was in a less touristy area and an easy 15 minutes walk to the beach. Our hotel provided sunbeds and parasols, and they were much needed as during September the temperature was still in the 30's. The sand is quite coarse - rather like sharp sand, and be warned, the sand gets EXTREMELY hot. Thankfully I had seen another review mentioning this so bought some water/ beach shoes before we went. The beach itself is picturesque, framed by cliffs left and right, and the left cliff has an amazing castle and fortified walls perched on top. You can visit this via a cable car. The beach has a lovely promenade that has benches, flower beds, sculptures and palm trees and is very pleasant to walk along.
The beach has a sudden sharp incline to the sea, meaning there are some pretty powerful waves, and it can be difficult to make an elegant exit from the sea. Children would need careful supervision and non swimmers would need to take care as it's very easy to get thrown off balance and floored. Having said that, it was really fun to jump in the waves, and If you swim a bit further out it is possible to swim, but look out for rips. You can also indulge in all the usual water sports and para-gliding.
We visited an amazing indoor market on the main street- id never seen fruit and veg like it, SO fresh and colourful, and of course cheap. We bought our teas in the market (pomegranate and apples). You have to haggle, which I don't mind, husband hates it. Think of the price you would rather pay and stick to that. Also, a lot of the tourist prices are in euros, but you can ask to pay in lira.
Alanya town centre was a 25 minute walk from the hotel, and the harbour was about 40 minutes. There are so many shops, but what we really liked about Alanya is that it isn't just a resort, it's a proper town, so there are turkish clothing stores ( we like Waikiki, Turkey's own brand clothing store- a bit like zara and H&m, but a lot cheaper), and heaven for me- lots of fabric stores! We found the prices quite cheap- definitely cheaper than Side ( we visited the Side resort in May). The town is clean and care has been taken in the planning, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants. Be warned that in the main tourist area the prices are higher but get lower further away. When it comes to fake designer bags, some side streets were selling them for 10-20 euro whereas a lady I spoke to in the plane said in
one shop the owner would not go below 35€! So, shop around. Prices vary with the knock
off perfumes too, and it is possible to get really bargains.
We really enjoyed Alanya and would definitely go there again. We preferred it to our holiday in Side, as apart from the amazing ruins, it's just one huge resort with the same shops repeated over and over again, and not much else to see.

A beautiful canyon. You can proceed along the canyon. In some places the depth increases. It is necessary to wear a helmet. Against stone falls.

Great place, daughter who is 8 loved it! Lots of family slides. Food and ques were fine and rarely queued for the slides. I injured myself on the slide & Fly as I landed in the water at high force on my side, please be mindful as to who you send on these slides as I am so pleased it was myself and not my daughter. Couldn't walk after and covered in bruises. Other than that slide all the slides were fun!
We watched the dolphin show which was the best dolphin show we had ever seen.
Great day all round (Except for the injuries).

100 turkish lira per person for a round trip in the cable car. As you get to the top of the mountain you have to walk up over 100 steep steps to the top of the castle. Not really suitable for people with limited mobility. Great panoramic views once you reach the top and also a there is a bazzar and mosque that you can visit.
