Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- tom cSheffield, UK21 contributionsThis facility trains and employs people with a variety of disabilities. They provide tuition in throwing pots on the wheel and various handicrafts for 200 000 Dong for 2.5 hours. A brilliant charity and a great way to meet this Hué communityWritten 4 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debora K3 contributionsI did the Hue city tour with Anh and Phuc. It was really easy to organize and even wish for some changes in their route. So I saw exactly what I wanted. The two ladies were really friendly, nice and funny. It was a pleasure to talk to them and ask them questions. Phuc told us a lot about the places history and knows a lot of interesting informations. They speak English quite well and I learned much from both of them. I always felt save and well taken care of by my driver Anh. I would definitely do it again! A big thanks to the both of you!Written 25 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Billy ZSingapore, Singapore6,054 contributionsDuring our stays at the hotel we took a cooking class which was conducted in the hotel restaurant kitchen. The class covered 3 traditional Hue dishes in about 2.5 hrs with plenty of hands-on. While each standard classes offered 3 pre-determined dishes we discussed with the restaurant manager to mix and match the dishes that we were keen to learn.
The Chef/instructor was very professional and happy to demonstrate and share her culinary skills, though she speaks only Vietnamese but it was never a problem with one other staff acting as interpreter for us. There were just 2 of us as a couple in the class so we received full attention and free to ask questions and practice throughout the session. We thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class and the food that we helped cooking during the class.
Though the recipe was emailed to us at the end of the course it was quite brief. hence it is highly recommended that particpants take note of the steps if you want to replicate the dishes, which we did when we return home!Written 24 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My wife and I travel so we can have genuine cross-cultural exchanges and enjoy real local experiences—and our time with Anh was tremendous. It was like a Friday night out in Hue with a new friend.
We set up station at a very local seafood grill, sitting on little plastic chairs on the roadside. We ordered dish after dish—frogs' legs in lemongrass, razor clams in tamarind, an octopus hotpot, mini sea snails with garlic and butter...the list went on. We whiled away the evening yakking about anything and everything. Conversation flowed easily and time slipped away very quickly.
It was a Friday night, so there were office workers at the next table getting hammered celebrating the end to another working week. A couple of them joined our table to chat and eventually we started pouring beers for each other. I tried to impress everyone (sorry, I meant 'not humiliate myself') by using my YouTube-acquired Vietnamese.
We then kicked on to a roadside dessert stall and then a stroll around the Perfume River people-watching.
I need to find a way for my wife and me to experience Hue like this again.Written 7 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They recommended Waterland Restaurant cooking class, which was conveniently a short stroll down the road. As we could only do it in the afternoon, we weren't able to visit the markets (they'd closed for the day), but even without the market trip, the whole family (including teenage daughters) LOVED the class. Our host Ngoc had excellent English and was very thoughtful and informative in his explanations, while the young chef demonstrated the techniques involved with each dish. We made rice pancakes, spring rolls (fresh and fried), followed by beef noodle soup Hue-style (all absolutely delicious). After we made each dish, we sat down and ate it, then we would turn our attention to the next dish - so it was like a long extended lunch! (All in all, it took 2 and a half hours). There was no sense of being hurried or not knowing what we were doing (as I have read of other cooking class reviews) - instead we learned a lot about Vietnamese cooking, and feel confident we could recreate the dishes at home. It was also just a lot of fun to spend time with some lovely young Vietnamese people. Did I mention that the food was delicious?Written 10 January 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Anna K11 contributionsI signed up for the walking food tour and was expecting to be part of a small group, but as I was the only one who had booked it turned out to be a private tour! The guide was friendly, talkative and professional and was very knowledgeable about the local food. He gave me lots of details about how the dishes were prepared and what ingredients were used and left me with no unanswered questions. The food was all delicious and whilst using many similar ingredients the preparation of each dish made it unique. I had the chance to try lots of dishes that I had not seen elsewhere in Vietnam. Excellent tour, would recommend for food lovers!Written 13 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
