Jake was an excellent tour guide. Three hours of learning the fascinating process of growing cocoa, the fruits, animals, and plants on the farm flew by, and tasting all the different kinds of chocolate made at Lydgate, juxtaposed with other brands of chocolate was really educational. I highly recommend this tour as being one of the best I've ever experienced.

Poʻipū Beach is located directly opposite of Puka's Hotdogs. We used the parking lot next door and then walked across to see the sea turtles before purchasing food from this place.

Starting at around a half hour before sunset, leatherback and green sea turtles, known in Hawaiian as "honu" swim to the shores to rest at night on Poʻipū Beach.

Flashlights, flash photography and even bright street lights are not allowed because sea birds and turtles get confused thinking that they're going towards the sea where the moonlight is, and instead go inland and get hit by cars or attacked by dogs.

There is a turtle group that keeps watch over the turtles from sundown until sun up in shifts to protect the turtles from poachers and evil people who would try to harm these magnificent creatures.

Native Hawaiians are doing God's work when it comes to animal stewardship.

Everything good in the other reviews is all true! Beautiful gardens, great staff, knowledgeable guides, well-put together tour! We had Heidi for our guide and her enthusiasm and knowledge was not to be topped. The whole staff was so welcoming and very well organized. Definitely not a tour for young children. You could easily repeat this tour on another visit and learn different things about the flora and chocolate. Look forward to being able to purchase their own brand of chocolate as that was my favorite of the seven tasted.
