- Lizzie R1 contributionWhat an amazing experience! El Lago de Yojoa is a beautiful body of water with gorgeous communities surrounding it. The air is fresh and the fish is fried! I loved getting out of the city and into nature with Kerim, a supremely knowledgeable tour guide. His love for Honduras is contagious. And he's a lot of fun! If you want to experience Honduras's many beautiful treasures, I couldn't more highly recommend ICathracho tours! I’ve dealt with many tour companies and iCatracho is like no other. We never felt like we were rushed at any part of our tour. Kerim was very professional, informative, patient, and we felt more like we were on a tour with a friend rather than someone just interested in making money. Many times I noticed Kerim taking pictures of sights along our tour. Kerim is the type of guide that enjoys sharing his country with others and you can tell after just a few minutes of conversation. - Ryan HCumming, GA64 contributionsKerim at iCatracho Tours is the best tour guide you'll ever have! From your arrival at the airport and back to the airport you'll be in good hands. He knows every part of Honduras and will make sure you have the best time. I booked this Omoa daytrip and the fort was still closed due to COVID-19, so Kerim worked with me on other options. He took me out to see Copan, knew all the best places to eat...where the best coffee is, etc. He's friendly and speaks great English. He is the one and only Honduras tour guide for any foreigner wishing to experience this beautiful country. - Ann GLittleton, MA24 contributionsKerim was a fantastic guide. We wanted to learn about Mayans and Honduras today, and he certainly delivered and exceeded our expectations.
First he took us to El Puente which sets the stage for the incredible Mayan civilization and helped us understand the context of the Mayans in the broader Central American world. At the main site he made sure that we had the best professional guide who patiently answered all of our questions and stayed with us right up until the place closed.
Kerim also understands the importance of timing for an optimal experience. He took us to the Hot Springs, ensuring that we arrived at sunset so that we could experience the magical place all to ourselves without crowds. He took us to the macaw sanctuary in the early morning when the birds are feeding quietly and are easy to observe.
We took up his suggestion to take a loop route back to San Pedro Sula from Gracias and La Esperanza, giving us the opportunity to see the incredible beauty of the Honduran countryside, visit a small coffee farm and café, and experience the Lenca world.
Along the way we learned about Honduras today and the incredible difficulties that the country is dealing with.
Most importantly Kerim is a very safe and cautious driver, his car is spotless, he keeps extra bottled water available at all times. We felt that he took incredible care of us, and that we were with a trusted friend at all times.
