We have been visiting Roatan for over 10 years and I always look forward to visiting Karla and Marco on West Bay beach and choosing a new, one-of-a-kind, beautiful piece of jewelry.
We were there a few weeks ago and I found the most beautiful, fresh water black pearl earrings (I wear them every day) and our kids loved picking out bracelets to take back home to their friends!

Loved this delightful shop with Christmas ornaments, jewelry, on of a kind island artwork (some even made from recycled metal from the island!).
Loved the Rusty Fish - found a lot of great souvenirs and kitschy items to remind me of the good times in Roatan.

... one for my brother's Roatan house) to unique, hand-painted dolphin bookmarks which I brought back for our Reading Partners/Americorps kids, they have a two-story collection of curated wearables and artisan finds.
This is a wonderful shop for gifts (for yourself or someone back home) and local artwork.

Their warm crisp paninis, perfectly roasted veggies, and delectable dark chocolate chip cookies and coconut macaroons will surely satisfy any palate.
Highlight of the visit was the informative tour explaining the multi step process in how chocolate is made from bean to finished product.

Top it off with the best boat & shore crew setting up & taking care of your gear (thanks Michael), the largest gear locker of any dive shop, fast boats with excellent ladders for getting back on board in rough wat...
If we had known how great Ricky, Rachel, and the entire dive shop staff are we would have planned to complete our certification while we were here on the island.

Browsing through the large collection of cameos is wonderful and varies from traditional cameos to cameo earrings, bracelets, and the large carvings.
Watching the carvers and talking to the artists make this a once and a lifetime chance to experience this art up close and personal.

Unique gifts, good pricing, friendly volunteers staff the shop and will help you find gifts for everyone on your list.
This shop caught my attention because of its upcycled products - tin roof: magnets; sea glass and shells: bracelets; etc.

Miss Penny graciously greeted me at the door and started showing me around her shop sharing her vast knowledge and fun stories about the stones, jewelry and people that made the treasures she beholds.
Ms Penny the store owner was very friendly and helped me with selecting the perfect souvenirs and gifts for my trip.

After we tried the strangely addictive chocolate nibs and many other samples, we bought a significant number of different varieties of excellent chocolate to take back home.
We were taken to a MAYAK CHOCOLATE ROATAN, where we watched them make Chocolate and received free samples.

He first took us to a place that is not offered on RCL shore excursions but it’s a must see for every traveler.

Once you find the sandals and size that best fits, the lovey Vivian will personally thread beads of your choice onto the sandals you choose if you can’t find just the right pair already on display.
She was also so friendly when I asked her about life on the island and the company’s mission.

A couple of years ago, I happened to want a particular pair of Mare fins and harassed every near-by dive shop where I live in the US (near to Monterey, CA) and shopped on line.
In a lot of cases like this, where you go to a destination and shop at a sport-specific store, you find predatory staff that are just looking to extract as much money from you as possible.
