What travellers are saying
- Seasoned Traveler9 contributionsWe came mainly to swim and snorkel/freedive in the spring. The spring consists of an upwelling from a slot or crevasse into an otherwise flat pond about 7' deep and perhaps 50 yards across. The water is clear and the visibility excellent. There are no posted restrictions on freediving and I was able to dive into the spring, though the upwelling current and rocks made it difficult to reach the bottom. There are fish and turtles to see around the pond. There are steps making it easy to enter and exit the water, and a shallow wading area for children and nonswimmers.
The pond drains into the spring run over a weir, and at this point swimming is not allowed but paddlecraft can be used. The park offers SOT kayak rentals and canoe rentals. There was a manatee present in the spring run while I was kayaking and it came right up to the boat where I could see it, and I also saw a large turtle and a number of shore birds.
Canoe and kayak rentals end well before the park closes, plan accordingly.
This is a popular location and you may be turned away or have to wait if the park is at capacity. While we found other visitors to be courteous overall the area can become busy. There were a number of people listening to music that was perhaps not to my taste that did detract somewhat from the natural beauty of the surroundings. Park staff were courteous and helpful.Written 17 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Owen Newberry3 contributionsGreat time had with the family loved the number alligators and turtle we saw the best thing it was free.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Joseph RobbaCharlotte, NC2,057 contributionsRock Springs Run has become one of my new favorite things to do in Florida. Forget Disney and all the parks, this is where it's at. It was $5 for a car of adults and kids, and there are some really nice trails and obviously its a fantastic swimming hole. I definitely advise heading up to the Spring Head with your favorite floatation device and enjoy the lazy float down the crystal clear water. There were some gnats that did bite us, but overall we had a pretty obstacle free time. We saw a few turtles...no alligators, and the water while a little chilly, we acclimated quickly and enjoyed it, in the 82 degree Florida sun. The water is deep enough near the spring head to just jump right in. I definitely want to come back and drop the kayaks in for a float on our next trip.Written 24 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- nabeabHollywood, FL5,263 contributionsThe West Orange trail ride is as long as you want it to be. We started at Clarcona rd up to winter garden. Very nice trail.Written 7 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dragonfly8On my computer521 contributionsNever have I ever seen so many gators in my life. This is a great trail that offers you the chance to drive it entirely or take a moment and get out and walk and see the sites up close. Pack snacks and there are port a potties along the route. We really enjoyed seeing so many animals and native birds. You can also listen to historical information on the trail as you go along.Written 20 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- suzie0570419Jacksonville, FL73 contributionsWe camped 4 nights here in site #6, April 2022. As we had surmised from an earlier review this site was slightly unlevel so luckily we packed our leveling blocks for one wheel of our 19ft. TT. The campground loop is small and somewhat tight. Our site was shaded most of the day, bathrooms clean and adequate. Wish the area across from the park's improvements were finished so there was more to do nearby but we rode bikes around the park and overall enjoyed it. Mosquitoes were surprisingly bad for April and we had daily visits from the resident peacocks who were noisy at dusk but overall fine until the day we left. They mainly hang out near the entrance/ dump station area and a couple could see their reflections in our truck and had to be shooed away many times so we could leave! haWritten 1 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PatioPleaseApopka, FL250 contributionsThere is a lot of variety in this fun consignment store (range of prices and styles). It has unique, antique, farmhouse, etc. It is definitely worth a look! The store also has a Spring Fling and Fall Festival with additional vendors. I always spy something that would look great with my current decor!!!Written 17 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KJBRAND10 contributionsThis farm may be the smallest winery in the state of Florida but the passion shown by owners John and Sherry is enormous.
Our site was level and our campsite faced the vineyard. It was a beautiful setting. John gave us a private tasting on 4 of their signature wines.
All of the wines were great so we chose 2 bottles plus 2 glasses. This winery was the 3rd Harvest Host that we experienced and we were not disappointed. Ranger the wonder dog kept an eye on everything. Must see.Written 23 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ChristineApex, NC19 contributionsWe went with our daughter thinking it would be a quick visit, but we ended up spending close to 3 hours there. The volunteers were so knowledgeable about all the birds and answered all our questions. It was very windy the day we visited so there were no flight demonstrations, but it was still awesome to see all these amazing birds so close. Many of the birds cannot be released back into the wild due to injuries or other issues. I would definitely recommend a trip here!Written 5 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- David SalesCalifornia37 contributionsThe place is tiny but adorable. You could extend the experience and spend an hour there, but you can see everything in less time.

Parked nearby was the former pastor who opened the church for us and explained everything. Not only is the church beautiful, the former pastor was inviting, welcoming, and friendly.Written 7 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ClausSoborg, Denmark1 contributionWe were 5 men on a kayak trip. It was pure manna for the soul. Along the way, three men went into the water to snorkel. There were lots of fish, crayfish and jellyfish. Remember sun protection on legs and feet. Fantastic trip.Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Olivia SColorado Springs, CO2 contributionsAfter researching a bunch of places nearby, I landed on Otterpaddle based off its amazing reviews and they did not disappoint! If you're thinking about renting the paddleboards, go ahead and just upgrade to the tour. It's well worth it just to experience the run with Rachelle. She is super knowledgeable about paddling and the spring - which is absolutely GORGEOUS. It was my boyfriend and I's first time on paddle boards and she just made us feel so relaxed and comfortable on the water. We are hooked. Not to mention the pictures are something we will treasure forever! Such a fun experience, and so happy to support a family-owned business in the community. THANK YOU Otterpaddle!Written 8 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
