Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Hans-Olof HStockholm, Sweden835 contributionsAn impressive pedagogic museum but that is not completely updated on the human development
It is situated in an impressive building as seems to be the standard in this city. It is very pedagogic throughout and really tries to catch the interest of children and everyone else. The only exception is the section with local birds in the entrance floor. These dusty birds must have been there since the nineteenth century. I especially appreciated how they showed the transformation from a kind of from a land-living mammal into a vale. However, my favourite topic is the human development. Also, this part was very well created. I especially liked the part of a neandertal funeral. Another thing that caught my eyes was the bronze statues of different humans caught in different activities. However, I was surprised and disappointed that the research frontiers that have moved very quickly the last decades was not incorporated. Especially, there was no information at all about the Denisovan man. Still that finding was published already in 2010. Neither was there any of that the human development cannot be show as a simple tree structure anymore since we now know there are intermittent mixing with more primitive humans over the years.Written 10 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very interesting and good for everyone to better understand the US culture and history.

A visit to Capitolium must be planned well in advanced since you must book a slot several weeks ahead to be sure. The guided tour includes the crypta, that is the basement level just under the rotunda, the rotunda under the dome, the old session room for the Supreme Court and the statue room. And if you are lucky another one or two rooms. Before the tour an information film is shown. There are many different groups at the same time, and even if you hear your own guide well it is very high noise level from all the other groups in the background. The fact that almost all the rooms are just made of stone make them very beautiful but also very noisy. The rotunda was of course the highlight of the tour with all the very nice paintings of historic events. We liked the tour a lot. Be certain not to miss the cafeteria, the sweets are delicious especially the dome shaped white chocolate pastry.Written 10 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hans-Olof HStockholm, Sweden835 contributionsThe building is very beautiful and impressing as many of the museum buildings in this city. A special attraction is the internal waterfall in the middle of the entrée. I liked that a lot, and in itself it was worth the visit to this museum. The art was impressive and had many masterpieces. You must spend at least two hours to give them full credit. This is one of the best, we have visited six, museums in this city and can be highly recommended.Written 10 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debra RAbbeville, GA484 contributionsA very emotionally moving experience. So very sad to see the horrific torture of innocent people. A part of history everyone should see to remind us that Evil lives around usWritten 11 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Genesis4everBuenos Aires, Argentina162 contributionsVery nice place and Library to walk around, look and see. Impresive hall, stairs and place for 'readers'. - helenandpaul13Worcester, UK1,500 contributionsWe visited here during an evening guided tour. I twas late in the evening and it's situated just below and to the left of the Lincoln memorial as you stand with the memorial behind you. However, the memorial has the names of every American soldier who was a victim of the war and what's impressive is that the names start in 1959 from half was down the memorial, and in a circular route come back to the last victims of 1975, right next to this. This was a deliberate act by the sculpture. The names are listed from the date they were listed as casualties, while at the top of the monument are catalogues in a rain proofed lecturn detailing everyone's names.Written 24 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RowD2192Sydney, Australia126 contributionsAmazing to see this site along with the Washington monument at the Centre. Our family spent a few hours walking through this park and visited areas including the Korean and Vietnam War Memorial. It was a surreal experience.Written 7 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ATLpchAtlanta, GA904 contributionsThe Korean War Memorial is impressive at night. It is located a very short walk from the Lincoln Memorial and is also much less crowded. The memorial grounds are almost silent as you walk by the realistic statues of soldiers and the memorial wall.Written 5 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To go through all of you need an entire day. There is just a lot. Probably need more than one visit. Depends how much you read about each exhibit or artifact .

The most annoying part of the entire experience is actually getting the times tickets 30 days in advance. But totally worth the trouble for the view.Written 5 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
