Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some interesting artefacts. The dinosaurs are incredible. Huge recreations skeletons of these are really cool. The Hope diamond is well displayed and a crazy size. The gem section is worth a look

As a modern museum, it is very dynamic, with various sections. They leave no room for doubt about the historical theme, very sad actually, that awakens mixed feelings about humanity. They also touch on culture, entertainment and great African-American figures. We were lucky to receive tickets the same day. It is super well put and is a must see

If you have not been to DC before, you have to see the Capitol up close. Tour or no tour is up to you, but the building and location is a must see. I have been many times, but this trip was showing my 8 y.o. daughter around and you just get to see in their eyes the recognition of where they actually are. I am sure that security issues are high right now after recent events, but this is still a major location in the governance of our country and deserves a visit.

The building itself is just breathtaking, the statue and scripts on the wall are also very beautiful

This museum is definitely worth a visit. So so many things to do and see.

We found the Wright Brothers exhibit the most interesting.

If I’m Washington, visit this place!

A fitting tribute to the US military personnel that lost their lives in this war. The order of the names on the wall was quite confusing, there did not seem to be any real order.

Walking from the Capitol to the Washington Monument [and on to the Lincoln Memorial] is a great experience. Fun and free. Many free museums to stop in along the way.

This is one of the best memorials I've seen, very simple and easy to follow. The bronzes of the soldiers are excellent.
    Definitely worth a visit.

Don't let the topic or some of the bad press turn you off from a great experience. Although it is a religious topic, the museum is remarkably non-religious. One doesn't have to believe in the Bible or know anything about he Bible to have an enjoyable visit. The presentations of the Old and New Testaments are particularly well done. The exhibit about a 20th century Chinese martyr (Watchman Nee) is very moving, rare for a any museum to include anything about Chinese, or even Asian contributions/influence on the world. The restaurant serves surprisingly excellent food. Fly through buildings in Washington Revelations--woth the extra money if you don't get motion sickness. The price of admission is high compared to all the free stuff in D.C. but you can tell that no expense was spared to create a great museum and memorable visit.

I have seen the monument on TV and in print plenty of times before, but this is the first time I've actually seen it. It is much larger than I thought. We did not go to the top, but I would imagine that the views would be great.

A must visit for its houses, streets, businesses, restaurants and bars. Waterfront with its businesses on the Potomac.

The museum aspect focused on the assassin and the civil war. The theater itself still runs regular plays and I would recommend attending a show at the theater for full effect.

Worthwhile to see the important documents but also a sampling of all the other amazing materials they have in the collection.

Breathtaking! There are so many interior chapels, each with thier on unique qualities and story. The stained glass is stunning; some change color/pattern as the sun shines through them at different times of the year.

There is a $15 admission fee, unless you go during worship services. It's totally worth it and allows you to really explore at your leisure all the nooks and crannies!
