Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This experience was greatly needed. A nice way to unwind and have fun with friends. You can get competitive or just enjoy some harmless axe throwing. Also our instructor was great and helped whenever needed. Would recommend this experience for anyone looking for a new activity.

We thought we were going to a different axe throwing place to celebrate my sister’s birthday but ended up at Bad AxeThrowing instead. What a nice surprise! It felt authentic and comfortable. It was nice that you could bring your own drinks and food. The staff was super friendly, down to earth and helpful. We highly recommend Bad Axe Throwing. We will be back!

Everyone was so nice and it was just a good experience. My son and I definitely will be going back. I wish I would have made the reservation myself but I let him do it so I know now I have to pay for the both of us not just $25.

Such a fun experience. Only issue we had was a very rude waitress working in the cabana area. She had blonde dreads. Needs an attitude tuning. The two guys in the axe throwing area were wonderful. Will definitely be going back.

We walked through the sculpture garden on our way to the National Archives. Lovely gardens and sculptures...there was a jazz band playing in the bandstand and you could purchase cocktails- wonderful.

This place was scary good! I jumped back several times, the actors and the sets were amazing. When you go, look at the detail it was so cool! Just when you think you're safe, ...your not! So much fun, can;t wait to bring my friends and do it again this year!

Did a 90 minute session of axe throwing with another couple. Daryl was our coach. He did an excellent job keeping things lively and safe. Chips were sold as snacks. A few non-alcoholic drink choices (Coke, sprite). Decent beers. Would definitely do it again.

This VR arcade is really fun and run by two really great owners. It is expensive so read all the info on the site and get there on time because they have everything scheduled by reservation. You can walk-in but if there are reservations you have to wait. I went with a my girl-friend and I paid extra so we can both play at the same time. We played against each other and with each other in the different couples games and there were a lot of options. We could’ve also played individually but we didn’t choose too. I felt this was better than just taking turns watching each other play individually so I recommend all groups of two or more getting at least two machines. It was easy to do and the owners were right there if we had any questions or needed help setting up the joint games. There is a full bar and a DJ. Reservations are key and you will be ensured a great time!

Washington, D.C. location- I will only give this a 4 out of 5 because of concept and service. We were a little apprehensive about this place from the reviews, but went anyways because the concept sounded very exciting. So in a nutshell, excellent concept, younger kids had fun with tons of educational opportunities, but the facility location was not ideal and in serious need of renovations. This location is primarily for younger kids but older kids could find something to do ( paint, decorate cupcakes/make desserts, make spa products?) I understand the Bethesda location has a specific area for older kids/Tweens. Friendly and helpful staff, however seemed understaffed. Budget friendly for those not looking to spend much more than the $7 per person admission. Not sure the place was dirtier than any other public play area, just old worn toys and furniture. However plenty of hand sanitizer throughout. Great experience but we would only return if they moved and did major renovations. Recommend to families that don't mind older worn toys with outstanding service in what appears to be an up and coming area.
