Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jiang HWashington DC, DC12 contributionsA lovely place but not much to do. Have your expectation low and you'll find it interesting. Must be more beautiful in warmer seasons.Written 24 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Travel4FoodzBoston, MA60 contributionsI was proactively looking for somewhere to bring my son during our trip where he could run around and also be interactive. This was the perfect place for him. He's not into climbing just yet but they had the play kitchen and grocery store which was super cute. He had a blast!
They do have time slots in which they allow a certain number of people at a time for 30 minutes. It was a great way to give everyone a chance to experience the space and keep things moving.Written 5 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To charge $10 for a child to play ONE HOUR with a bunch of balls, climb up ladders, slide down tubes, and play with other kids (Oh! sounds like a park playground, right?) is daylight robbery, so I decided to pay $15 for the entire day, because my son told me that my grandson would enjoy it. When my grandson decided he wanted his milk and I tried to go to the vehicle, I was advised we could not regain admission, so we remained, and bought a drink from their in-house cafeteria! We all know that young children's attention span is very short, so how long would they be satisfied with the above (repetitive) activities? We left after about 2 hours, and he didn't even object to leaving. Like me, I guess he'd had enough! In fact, he spent the last 30 minutes or so, playing the video games. Next time, we'll just go to the park and take a tablet!Written 17 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dr HookBaltimore, MD40 contributionsOk folks I have a sleeper for you.
Took my daughter to see, "The Magic Duel" tonight as part of her Christmas gifts. This was absoluetly the BEST show per cost I've attended in the last 5 years or so. Absolutely blown away by Mark Phillips and Ryan Phillips comedic genius combined with their underhanded, overhanded, slight of hand magic stylings. These two could stand alone on their one liners, jokes, and snippity, snarkey humor however the magic you witness has a separate if not even stronger punch of its own. Yes, the audience was repeatedly floored and no participants suffered in any way at all.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU SEE THIS FOR YOURSELF!!
Located in the basement of the picturesque Mayflower Hotel, Washington DC.

- Jen KLititz, PA183 contributionsLet’s start by saying this is a great escape room! There were only three of us, but we have done many escape rooms, although in a larger group. We did the Jurassic room, and it was SOOOOO hard. I swear we needed a clue every five minutes. It may have been easier if we had more of us, but we still would have needed clues. The design was well put together, it had great effects and puzzles. I only wish we were smarter.
Smarter, AND to make this place easier to find. I suggest the website puts their phone number for the call box on the website. So, until they do, here’s a hint. The address is CORRECT. You will see the spiral art decor through the doors that people have pictured. To the left is a call box. Call the number on the website. They will give you the code to call them and only then will they buzz you in. Maybe THIS is the actual start of the escape room?Written 10 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carla P7 contributionsWe thought we were going to a different axe throwing place to celebrate my sister’s birthday but ended up at Bad AxeThrowing instead. What a nice surprise! It felt authentic and comfortable. It was nice that you could bring your own drinks and food. The staff was super friendly, down to earth and helpful. We highly recommend Bad Axe Throwing. - MmboosWashington DC, DC1 contributionWe went with my nieces 12, 13 and 14 and we all had a great time! We did The Heist and The Depths. Both rooms were interesting and challenging. The staff is great, they guided us and we’re very kind to answer all of our questions. Highly recommend it for teens and older!Written 25 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Myiya PetersSilver Spring, MD1 contributionEscape Artists DC was so much fun! The owner was so kind and welcoming, the space was clean, and the escape room was so much fun! We did the Gallery Heist themed room and while we didn’t make it out in time, we still had a lot of fun trying to! I would definitely recommend it and am already planning my trip back!Written 21 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
