A great hike for beginners. Many stunning views of the Waikiki area. I would not bring small children unless you want to carry them part of the way. Go early if you can. It gets hot in the afternoon and you will have to work a little harder. I highly recommend.

One of the most beautiful memorials I've seen. It's location within the Pearl Harbor bay and snow white color in contrast with blue sea around is really eye catching.
Make your reservation online for a 1$ fee to avoid queuing in the stand by line.
Have in mind the time on your ticket is the time of the boat departure, so you need to be 10-15 min earlier onsite.
The whole visit lasts around 45 min with transport there and back. At the memorial you're about to spend 15 min which is quite enough. It is built right above the wreckage and you see the ship beneath you.
At memorial's far end is the remembrance wall with all the victim names inscribed.
Below it, on two smaller side stones are the names of the attack survivors who passed away over the decades later. Their ashes are also placed in the wreckage what you can learn at the plaque at the memorial.

Such an amazing and beautiful memorial, with so much history and sadness all in one! The museums were spectacular, although we didn’t get to go onto the USS Arizona because of weather conditions. After watching the short film regarding the invasion, I feel as though I never need to step foot on their burial ground.

Nice views. Don’t schedule this trip wait till you’re in Hawaii and go when the sky is clear. Clouds and haze block a lot of the landscape

Having seen over 100 palaces throughout Europe, Middle East and Asia I was really hesitating if to go into this one. Specially at a steep entry fee of around 30$ pp (27$ entry + parking).
However, the fact it's the only palace in entire Pacific region and in all US prevailed and I've visited on early Saturday morning.
The tour lasts around an hour exploring two floors, audio guide included.
It tells the whole history of the Kingdom, but with emphasis on the last ruler King Kalakaua who built the Palace in 1882 implementing new inventions of the era like running water and electricity, he got acquainted with during his travels to Europe and implemented them even before the White House.
The palace is also the place where he was overthrown by white western strong financial clan (Hawaii League), who regarded him as an enemy for their business goals and who wanted to annex Hawaii into US. In order to prevent blood spill Kalakaua ordered his Royal guard to back off and signed a new Constitution in which he actually disarmed himself from legislative and military power.
Touring the Palace you're about to see the Grand staircase leading up to King and Queen's bedrooms, dressing and play rooms, while on the ground floor are reception halls, dining room along with kitchen.
By no means do not expect opulence of European palaces, but it was still nice and educative to see their influence mixed with local culture in a palace on the other end of the world.

When else will you stand on a volcano of this magnitude? So many trails to hike. Beautiful vistas. Don’t miss the lava tube walk.

One of the many amazing experiences on the island. 10,000 ft high and you’re able to drive the whole thing. Save your ticket and can visit the seven pools in Hanah for free . Because both are state parks so revisit is good to both places within 3 days

Family friendly! Great place to bring children of all ages, and let them play in the small waves, make sand castles, and possibly see a turtle.

That's my major impression after a full day at Pearl Harbor.
The USS Missouri couldn't be moored on a better, nor more meaningful place: 200 met from the USS Arizona memorial after which attack US entered WWII.
On Missouri, the unconditional surrender of Japan was signed in Tokyo bay on 2 Sep 1945, marking the end of WWII.
I suggest taking a free tour first, runs pretty often and takes around 30 min. After that you can explore the ship on your own - it's well signposted with many interesting things to see. Count on around 2 hours for a visit.
This isn't the biggest battleship I've visited, I've even been on Midway and Intrepid aircraft carriers, however this one has enormous historic and emotional importance marking the end of the bloodiest conflict in mankind history.
The only reason I deduct one star, rating 4 is a very steep price of 35$ pp.

We really enjoyed Hanauma Bay. I made my reservation online right at 7 am two days ahead of time. You can show up without a ticket but I wouldn't recommend it. We rented chairs and snorkel equipment once we got to the bay. There is very little shade so I recommend bringing or renting an umbrella. A water-proof camera would have been fun too. It is a little chaotic waiting to get in and parking can be difficult. We got there around 9 am and had no problems parking but the lot filled up fast. It took about an hour to actually get down to the water. You have to wait in the grass, wait in line, wait in a holding area, watch a video, and then walk down the hill. There is a free tram available but we walked up and down. Not a long walk with it is a little steep. I do recommend the tram on the way up especially if you are carrying anything. There is a snack shack at the top of the bay but it is expensive, around $7 for a bottled beverage. I snorkeled with my son and we saw lots of fish. The water was calm and clear but shallow that day so you really had to be careful around the coral.
