Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- NorbertBardejov, Slovakia7 contributionsOne of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Wort going on top of the tower, you will see nice view.Written 3 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsObviously every market square is a core part of the town. In Bardejov their market square is also a core part of "Bardejov Town Conservation Reserve", which is the name, under which Bardejov found itself inscribed onto UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. One of the finest squares I've seen so far, surrounded by very old townhouses, with a church closing the northern side. Former town hall, hosting a museum these days, in the middle. Also some statues and a small water holding structure, exaggeratedly called a fountain decorate Namestie. Shops and restaurants all around. Best view of the whole square is from main church tower. Great starting point to any adventure in town.Written 25 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsTown halls are usually most important buildings in every town. But the one in Bardejov must even more important, as it is listed no less then three times here on TripAdvisor: twice as "Saris Museum - Town Hall" and also as "The former "townhouse"". Hopefuly TA admin will now look at it. This town hall looks pretty much just like a ordinary town house, only its location may be slightly weird, as it stands in the middle of the market square, as a propper town hall should. It is now a part of Sarisske Muzeum Bardejov, where Saris (or Šariš) is the name of historic region of Slovakia, which used to be split into Horny (upper, north), with Bardejov as a capital, and Dolny (lower, south), with Presov as a capital. Entry to the museum from north, opposite St. Eligius Basilica, by the former side entrance (as the decorative main entrance no longer in use), where ticket office and souvenirs shop is located. Two floors filled with artefacts from rich town history, also thehistoric interior design of the building is very interesting even without exhibits. Definitely should be a starting point of exploring Bardejov.Written 3 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - T0urist7Warsaw, Poland1,397 contributionsA place worth visiting and a reminder of the history of the Holocaust in these areas. The monument is very architecturally interesting.Written 26 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GreenlakereenerVancouver, Canada627 contributionsWalking around the old town square in Bardejov is a real pleasure!
Situated at the far end of the square, this building is by far the prettiest, but there are several other well-preserved buildings surrounding the square. It is a lovely town and one of our favourites.
Well worth a walk around this square!Written 24 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Construction begun in mid 15th century for the Augustinian order, but it is quite likely it stands on the remains of older church, also of Augustinian origin. When the Augustinians gone, church for some time in 17th changed hands, becoming a protestant temple. Then in 18th century Fransciscan order took over. The former monastery - after all changes and reconstuctions over the centuries, stands on the souther side of the church, and is not available for tourists. Church can be visited inside at times, but it wasn't so when we were there, so we ony admired it's outer shape. Not the best part of UNESCO world heritage in Bardejov, but still blends in nicely into historical substance of the city.Written 3 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndrejaKoMaribor, Slovenia1,069 contributionsI am in such a luck. Those fountains never sing when I'm there. I'm gonna start to think they are just an urban myth :) anyways, park here is lovely, take time off, go for a coffe at the cafe near by.Written 9 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsIn a very short street inside town walls in Bardejov, there' ssome kind of park, dedicated to the memory of John Lennon, but also to all members of The Beatles and their music. There are rocks of all shapes and sizes - some of them got names of all band membres, others got titles of Beatles albums on them. There's a wall painting on nearest house, and many many other memorabilia related to the Fab Four. And all of that arranged and cared for for over 30 years by local man, obviously big fan of The Beatles.Written 7 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsProbably one of newest additions to the historic assemble of Bardejov. Built in the beginning of 20th cetury in the south-western part of town centre, at Jiráskova street - that street runs on what was a moat, that was a part of town fortifications. Church in eclectic style, with some neo-romanesque elements. Iconostasis from mid second decade of 20th century. Main door open fora a quick visit. Belongs to greek-catholic community, and it's part of Presov archdiocese of that rite.Written 3 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsNorth-eastern entrance to the city. Reinforced with barbican - a structure which reaches out far from town walls into the foreground, to give the defenders chance to open fire on coming enemies before they reach the walls. Very thick walls meant to give extra security to walls weakened by the hole (gate) in the fortifications. Short pleasant walk on this stretch of town walls, starting at Renaissance Tower, through the Dolna Brana (Lower Gate).Written 3 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - endrju_74Ipswich, UK4,851 contributionsBuilt on the outside of the walls, on a horseshoe plan. Five storey. Walls on both sides of the Tower still remain, linking it with Red Tower (Červená bašta) to the north and - with a small gap for modern Veterna Street - with the Gross Bastion (Hrubá bašta) to the south.Written 3 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
