Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was 4th time I was in AHHAA, this time with 4 teen and preteen girls. Wide variety of activities, everybody was engaged, happy and full of fun. Would recommend to anyone with kids aged 4-18, but even adults can gave fun.

It is a one of a kind museum, we loved it!!! You understand where paper comes from and go through the history of printing. You can see how it is done and interact with the printing machines, which is an amazing experience.
Karolina, our guide, explained everything very nicely and clear. She made the experience very enjoyable. We definitely recommend it.

We had an enjoyable 2-hour guided walking tour of Tartu taking in the old town, university and Toonemagi. It is an attractive town and not very busy either with cars or people.

Running a botanical garden is a hard job. Everyone with a garden comes looking for inspiration and perfect specimens. Fortunately, if you live or visit Tartu you will come away from this amazing space with an impression that gardening is just so easy.

It’s incredible how you end up walking by so many plants from different habitats and climates and it feels seamless.

The greenhouse is a triumph, botanically not the most diverse, but laid out with a canopy viewing area and succulents on the top floor, and a lift! and seating to chill.

It's a nice place not only for kids, but for adults as well - especially if you were growing up in the decades, the toys from which the museum presents. It's a nostalgic trip to the past :)

Tartu Town Hall Square is certainly a great public space, but as of June 2023 important parts are under construction in anticipation of the 2024 year as a Capital of European culture.

The square itself proceeds down a hillside (the slope is gentle) from the attractive former town hall (now a tourist information center) towards the river. The square is lined with shops and cafes. We were here on a Saturday night, and the square was alive and vibrant.

The construction is directly in front of the town hall, although it does not completely obscure it. We've posted photos. Most importantly, the "kissing students" castle, one of Tartu's most famous, is in storage pending completion of the project. The project does not affect the tilted art museum, which is towards the other end of the square. The museum leans at a greater angle than the Tower of Pisa in Italy.

If you are in Tartu, you will definitely want to come here. We stayed at the nearby Hotel Lydia, which is maybe 200 feet away and an excellent choice. If enjoying it without construction is your priority, or seeing the kissing students, I would contact the TI. In any case, it sounds like this square, and Tartu in general, will be a great place to visit in 2024.

Interesting to learn facts of history of Tartu U. We had high expectations, as friends told us this was an exciting place to visit, and that there is a room / exhibition which would draw attention of kids - the Mad Scientist room. That particular room, we were told, is a sort of "hands on science" room, but in reality it was not, and my 11 year old daughter did not find there anything interesting. In another room a VR exhibit cought my daughter's attention for 15 sec :) It was a non-interactive "look around" kind of VR.

The history / facts part of the mnuseum was fine - as expected.

The museum tower was an athletic part :) Climbing narrow medieval stair in the remrants of the old church to reach the high platform at the level of the building's top was an interersing experience. Also gave us a chance to have a panoramic view to the city.

The museum is 15 minute drive from Tartu city center. The collection exceeded my expectations by far. There are civil and military planes, helicopters, AA guns and missile systems and even a ww2 tank - T34 . We visited the museum on monday midday and there where only few peaople there.

We had a lot of fun! We went with a group of 5 and all of us really enjoyed it. The museum is very interactive and has a lot of hands-on activities. We played football and found it the best activity for team-building and having fun with friends. While in the museum, we found, that time passed very quickly! Our expectations were exceeded by a long shot! Thank you!

Located in a park, this unusual sculpture by Ulo Oun portrays himself and his 18 month old son, but of equal height. Different people have given it different meanings, but one is that it represents the changing periods in the father son-relationship through life.

One of several statues worth exploring in the centre.

Walk through a former industrial brewery with remnant equipment, which also exhibits the history of beer. Interactive displays and a small tasting at the end enhance the experience.

It was better than expected. My kids were there few years ago and were not excited. So, I had low expectations. In reality this small paleontology museum was very interesting and eye widening about the development of Estonian region many thousands year ago. I liked the second floor more than 1st.
