Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was 4th time I was in AHHAA, this time with 4 teen and preteen girls. Wide variety of activities, everybody was engaged, happy and full of fun. Would recommend to anyone with kids aged 4-18, but even adults can gave fun.

It is a one of a kind museum, we loved it!!! You understand where paper comes from and go through the history of printing. You can see how it is done and interact with the printing machines, which is an amazing experience.
Karolina, our guide, explained everything very nicely and clear. She made the experience very enjoyable. We definitely recommend it.

It's a nice place not only for kids, but for adults as well - especially if you were growing up in the decades, the toys from which the museum presents. It's a nostalgic trip to the past :)

I went up the bell tower for the viewpoint. It cost only 2€ for students and 3€ for adults. It's not the most amazing view you are ever going to see in your life, but it has a good view over Tartu's old town and beyond. The only downside is the plexiglass covering the windows.

Interesting to learn facts of history of Tartu U. We had high expectations, as friends told us this was an exciting place to visit, and that there is a room / exhibition which would draw attention of kids - the Mad Scientist room. That particular room, we were told, is a sort of "hands on science" room, but in reality it was not, and my 11 year old daughter did not find there anything interesting. In another room a VR exhibit cought my daughter's attention for 15 sec :) It was a non-interactive "look around" kind of VR.

The history / facts part of the mnuseum was fine - as expected.

The museum tower was an athletic part :) Climbing narrow medieval stair in the remrants of the old church to reach the high platform at the level of the building's top was an interersing experience. Also gave us a chance to have a panoramic view to the city.

We had a lot of fun! We went with a group of 5 and all of us really enjoyed it. The museum is very interactive and has a lot of hands-on activities. We played football and found it the best activity for team-building and having fun with friends. While in the museum, we found, that time passed very quickly! Our expectations were exceeded by a long shot! Thank you!

Walk through a former industrial brewery with remnant equipment, which also exhibits the history of beer. Interactive displays and a small tasting at the end enhance the experience.

The museum is set in a building basement where the KGB held “political” prisoners. I have been there twice. Last time with my family. Our 12 yo was very excited but the place was a bit scarry for our 9yo (att: spoiler follows)... especially when the sounds of voices and prisoner screams suddenly start when you cross through the back corridor. Overall, a very thoughtful experience that helps reminding us of our unfortunate and not so distant history.

It was better than expected. My kids were there few years ago and were not excited. So, I had low expectations. In reality this small paleontology museum was very interesting and eye widening about the development of Estonian region many thousands year ago. I liked the second floor more than 1st.

Very interesting place. I would especially recommend a guided tour.
Stuffed animals may not be very lifelike, but many of these living beings would not otherwise be seen in their lifetime.
Luckily we met one of the employees and he also suggested looking in the drawers.
The voices of the birds were cool, maybe this system can be done for the animals too ...

Unfortunately we did not have time to go inside but the guide said that the view from up the tower is excellent. She did relate the history to us and we just walked pass the building. Hope to return and visit soon.

We went to see The Nutcracker there and I was blown away by how simple going to the theatre is in this theatre, now queues, free coat hanging and boot storage - the Estonians, dress up for the theatre and lots of seats for people to change into their beautiful shoes. Lot's of young children dressed up for their experience of this ballet.

We saw the ballet in front row circle seats for 28 euros each and the train from Tallinn took circa 2 hours and was 10 euros each way - Note you can't buy return tickets but there is an option to buy a travel card if you are there for longer

It's a great place for everyone to spend the afternoon. Vast selection of shops with good prices and places where you can eat and chill. It's easily accessible and there is free public transport. You can take the bus from the Kaubamaja bus stop for example and it stops right in front of the shopping centre.
