Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We absolutely loved this museum. We got a taxi from our hotel & the museum staff were kind enough to organise a return taxi for us. The museum is housed in a purpose built hangar, which is worth the entrance price alone. We visited oi a cold December day & there were a few people there but it wasn't crowded,. This was beneficial as it meant we were able to explore the submarine exhibit without queuing. There is a great deal to see, coupled with a lovely coffee shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The Estonian Open Air Museum is a truly delightful destination. I highly recommend it, whether you're using the Tallinn card or opting for the student entry at 5€. The museum showcases a variety of older farms and homes from different centuries, offering a glimpse into Estonia's rich history. While it may not have the Scandinavian flair, it certainly has its own unique charm. One noticeable difference was the staff's demeanor; unlike the typical smiles found in Scandinavian open-air museums, the employees here seemed less outwardly cheerful. However, my visit was somewhat marred by the disappointing service at the museum's restaurant. The staff there were notably unfriendly, lacking basic courtesies like greeting customers. I was particularly impressed by some of the older staff members who, despite their age, were proficient in English, adding to the authenticity and educational value of the experience. However, some of the staff members were quite friendly. Overall, it was a great experience with fascinating houses and a lovely walk. Definitely an interesting place to visit.

The museum is great, filled with medals from various parts of the world. It's interesting to see how similar and different they can be from one another. There's also quite a few facts about each one and is just generally quite interesting. Even better is the curator, Andrus, he's a lovely guy who talked to me and my friends before and after our visit to the actual museum part and he also recommended a few places to go to and a few places not to bother with.

A short walk from the old town and right next to the train station so it’s easily accessible.
The market offers a wide range of fresh produce stalls, clothing and ready to eat food.
We tried multiple food including pancakes, pizza and cheburek from various stalls and they all tasted divine.
The downside is there’s limited seating the ‘food hall’ so try to find a table first before you purchase any food.
Overall, a clean market in a good location. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved a wander around this really cool area of the city. We came early in the morning but would have loved to return on an evening to see it more lively as there were loads of really fun eating places and bars to try

The ruins were an interesting sight especially the big facade is very impressive. There are info point here and there which give out nice information, how ever it would be nice to understand the structures more in detail and how the life in the convent would have been like. The ticket machine was broken (it couldn't print out paper) so we got in when someone else got out. It would be nice that the entrance would be more accessible and not dependent on the wits of the tourist. Pirita beach and Metsakalmistu are nearby sights that can be reached by car or bike.

A wonderful journey to medieval era! Everything was magical in this photo shoot! The studio, the costumes, the accessories, the feeling, the photographer! Larissa is a professional and an amazing person and she made me and my niece feel and look like queens! Don't miss such a gift if you ever visit Tallinn!

A nice small museum in Tallinn old town. Probably more interesting for local people who have some experience in the puppetry theatre to have a kind of "I remember..." effect as well (but sure I can be wrong about that). This time a very interesting exhibition about Urmas Alender was presented there but again - I believe it is for people who remember this actor and singer.

This is a pleasant hill to walk around & get away from the cruise tour groups across the street on Toompea. It gives a good view of the parks & Freedom Square below. I had a drink & a snack at the small cafe here.

Estonia is a land of beer and spirits but it does have an unconventional wine culture too. Want sparkling rhubarb, plum, apple or lingonberry wine, among other? This is the place. But there is more to it than a wine shop. You get to see and hear how it was set up as a distillery in Czarist Russia, flourished with a monopoly on berries for drinks in the inter-war republic but was then seized by the KGB although one owner made a daring escape to Sweden. It was revived only in recent years.

First of all, if your guidebooks are telling you this place has been closed to visitors since 2019 or so, it's not the case as of November 2022. It's open, and you can walk up to the top.

If you're in Tallinn on a weekend, I recommend visiting with the donation-based Communist Stories of Tallinn walking tour. You'll meet in old town and eventually make your way here. This is a great way to get a feel for the place and understand what you're seeing. It'll also give you a lot of context to understand what it is you're seeing, and why it's in the condition it now is.

Don't be intimidated by the stairs! I'm in awful shape these days, and had no problems at all climbing up. Once you make it up the first set of about 3 flights, there's a lot of level walking to do - so you can catch your breath. :)

an excellent room with interesting tasks, perfectly "dip" into the atmosphere of 1960-70. It is especially suitable for those who visit quest rooms not for the first time and like more difficult tasks. highly recommend!

The first time I visited synagogue from the inside. This one was really impressive and beautiful. The guide did his job well to give many details about the building and history. I highly recommend it.

The street front of this place is a bottle bar, sporting a range of over 740 beers from around the world. But the real gem is round the back, where there's a small bar that sells the same bottles and wide range of guest beers from the barrel. We visited on a very cold January night so it's nice they had a roaring log fire going. The beers are perfectly served and we had a few of the Belgian ones to keep our night going. The bar opened at 5pm but often stays open until 6am if you are a Tallinn night-owl. The staff are friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable about what they serving. The whole place has a cosy ambiance and was our top bar inTallinn. We will return.
