Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- DavidPoprad, Slovakia99 contributionsI grew up in this building. I always liked its architecture, even when it was not restored. Today it is beautifully renovated.
As to the exhibitions, there is a permanent exhibition on the ground floor. On the first floor you can see the current exhibition. The prices are reasonable however, by the opening of the current exhibition you can enter the gallery for free. The openings are often accompanied by concert or performance.Written 4 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So we got to sit in a nice cool church and listen to some music. - MadshusCanberra, Australia1,359 contributionsMy friend and I wandered around the square. It’s been refreshed by the local authorities and is quite interesting with restaurants and other shops.Written 14 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - onreOfFinlandAkaa, Finland16 contributionsWell, it's a tourist information centre with a lot of information on the region. The person on duty was very helpful and provided us with all the information we needed. They have affordable high-quality outdoors maps of the area for sale, too.Written 16 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You'll find there fashion, coffee, food court and other stores in the center of Poprad.Written 4 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is comfortable and all the seats are good. It's a little more modern than some other of the areas in Slovakia. It is an easy walk from the center of town. There's parking if you'd it. It's easy to buy a ticket on game day. The fans in the stadium are very nice, especially the fan club that sits up in one corner cheering for their team. Lots of families with kids go to the match. HK Poprad is an exciting hockey team and worth watching. I can't think of a better way to spend an evening!Written 24 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands5,815 contributionsWhile in other parts of Europe, increasingly low income people are excluded from public transport, in Slovakia it is still affordable for most. The electric mountain railway is no exception. 35 km in length this narrow gauge railway leads up to the lower parts of the Tatra mountains from where nice hikes can be made (skiing in winter). Strbske Pleso (lake) and Tatranska Lomnica are the most popular destinations.

Receptionists were very kind, they allowed us to check in earlier and check out later for a fee 30 euro x2. We had a very nice and clean Standard room. All pools are clean. On the first day, I lost myself when I wanted to book a Thai massage. I accidentally went to the "no shoes" zone. Manager pointed it out to me. I would welcome it if he would ask "how can he help" instead of giving me a warning. Dinner on the first day was excellent, the selection was varied. Breakfast on the second day was also excellent. My 11-year-old daughter has health problems. Because of that, we did not ask for a housekeeping service. Luckily I met the housekeeper in the corridor and she allowed me to bring used towels and I could take clean towels. The housekeeper was very kind. Since we didn't have housekeeping service, we didn't have the missing teas refilled in our room. That's why I suggested to my daughter that she can take a bag of tea when we arrive for dinner (second day). Moment when my daughter took 1 bag of fruit tea, the waitress came to us and told us and to my girl, that my girl can't take tea. Because that is ready for breakfast. At that moment, my daughter was shaken (the child with PTSD and mute). She HAD to put the tea bag she was holding in her small hand back into the box. From that moment on, my daughter stopped eating. I also took her uneaten food to our room, alas she didn't eat, didn't drink, didn't sleep. The daughter wears a lanyard with a card about her disorder so that people can be informed about her difficulties.
My son ordered a Multivitamin drink, waited 40 minutes and did not receive it.All evening all the waitresses ignored us,looked at us,while my daughter was crying. Following day Breakfast,my daughter was so anxious and scared of the waitress, she didn't eat.I took her uneaten food to our room but she didn't eat at all.I have years of experience in hotels&catering in management positions. We never made breakfast stations ready before the last dinner guest left. And giving a 10 years old child with a disability attitude for 1 tea bag is disgusting.
Experience of the waitress from the restaurant Aquacity Poprad disappointed me.
The unprofessionalism of one waitress ruined our girl`s rest of her stay.Written 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Therefore, if you need to do some shopping, I recommend to go to the Forum, and not to the OC Max.Written 6 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunatly there was the river between us and the church so we just got some photos. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands5,815 contributionsThis 19th century Protestant church is more of an eye catcher than St. Egidius right behind. It is a relatively small building in classical style, but cosy at the front where there is a tiny park with some trees.
There are quite a few churches in Poprad considering it has a population of just under 50,000 inhabitants.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has the standard type of local history on the top floor, going from the earliest signs of human habitation through to the present day, and is very informative. However, what is really exciting is the new part of the permanent exhibition, on the ground floor. "The Tomb of the Prince of Poprad" is about a recent archaeological find of a tomb from the 4th century -- a unique find in Europe. If you are interested in archaeological finds, this exhibition is a good reason to come to Poprad in itself. Although the tomb was made of wood, the mud it was buried in preserved it and the remains of the "prince" well. Although clearly an important person, no one really knows who he is or why someone who had spent time in the Mediterranean and was buried with many Roman funeral elements ended up here. However, the exhibition not only explains what is known about him and the culture of the region at the time, but also carefully documents and explains the processes of excavation and preservation involved. Many touch screens enable you to delve deeper into the details, such as the board game with glass beads from the region of what is today Syria. This was really an unexpected find for us.Written 19 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
