Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very beautiful place! We was here with my friends when came for studying, and for me it's the most beautiful place in Kosice!

Great botanical garden, one of the best ones I've seen in central Europe. Right in the centre, the entrance is only 3€ for an adult and 1€ to be allowed to take pictures (they give you a pass).

The outside area could be a little more rich with flowers.

As a tip I would say that if you visit this place, make sure you have a bottle of water and very light clothing as the temperature in the greenhouses is unbelievably high and humid (to maintain exotic species).

I was wearing a jumper in April and felt like I'm gonna faint haha.

An impressive looking building located next to a bridge leading to the park. The train station is located on the other side of the park.

We found the reconstructed wooden Russian Church the most fascinating part of this complex. Can be seen without entering the museum proper.

We visited the magnificent St Elizabeth Cathedral and behind it we saw this nice Chapel. It’s from 1380. In the past it was a cemetery chapel. It’s worth to visit this gothic St. Michael chapel and feel its special medieval atmosphere.

This Gothic Bell Tower stands beside St,\. Elizabeth's Cathedral and is dedicated to St Urban the patron of vine-dressers. The tower was destroyed by a fire in 1966 and was rebuilt in 1971. The renovated bell sits in front of the tower. Sadly the tower was closed for the duration of our visit.

We did LOTR and it was amazing. We realised we are pretty dumb but the room was awesome and we had a lot of fun. Staff are great.

Had an excellent tour with Slavo in the 1985 Skoda. He was a great tour guide speaking very good English with a great knowledge of the area’s history. He gave us a very vivid insight into the controversy and struggle people experienced under Soviet control and in memorialising it’s legacy today. It was clear this wasn’t just a job for Slavo but a passion project from personal experience. The drinks bottles and old currency he had collected added to his story of the region’s history and culture. We had mentioned we were particularly interested in the abandoned nuclear bunker and magnesite factory so Slavo detoured out of his way to show us these. The tour overran by an hour and a half but there was no sense of urgency, only making sure we’d had the full experience. There’s no way we could have seen a fraction of this stuff on our own during our short visit, and it helped us understand the city from a local’s perspective rather than as an outsider. So much more interesting than the usual tourist attractions. We saw the area warts and all including the gypsy slum which was an eye opener. We were allowed to drive the Skoda around a 1970s steelworks estate which you’d never get to do on a more official tour. The tour finished off in a beer garden with recommended beer and ice cream all purchased for us by Slavo, with a great presentation of some historical images of the places in the tour. Was completely worth it and well-recommended if you want to learn about Košice through an authentic and raw lens and venture off of the beaten track!

Wonderful and amazing place to visit. The steam locomotive Katka - the oldest operated steam machine in Middle Europe (1884) was in repair/service during July 2021, but another steam beauty called Krutwig was operational. Nice but short narrow-gauge track ends in the forest station Alpinka. There are lots of children attractions - rope park, tubing, playgrounds, trampoline, native American tepee camp - Manitou, kiosks, mini ZOO, etc.
