Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had an excellent tour with Slavo in the 1985 Skoda. He was a great tour guide speaking very good English with a great knowledge of the area’s history. He gave us a very vivid insight into the controversy and struggle people experienced under Soviet control and in memorialising it’s legacy today. It was clear this wasn’t just a job for Slavo but a passion project from personal experience. The drinks bottles and old currency he had collected added to his story of the region’s history and culture. We had mentioned we were particularly interested in the abandoned nuclear bunker and magnesite factory so Slavo detoured out of his way to show us these. The tour overran by an hour and a half but there was no sense of urgency, only making sure we’d had the full experience. There’s no way we could have seen a fraction of this stuff on our own during our short visit, and it helped us understand the city from a local’s perspective rather than as an outsider. So much more interesting than the usual tourist attractions. We saw the area warts and all including the gypsy slum which was an eye opener. We were allowed to drive the Skoda around a 1970s steelworks estate which you’d never get to do on a more official tour. The tour finished off in a beer garden with recommended beer and ice cream all purchased for us by Slavo, with a great presentation of some historical images of the places in the tour. Was completely worth it and well-recommended if you want to learn about Košice through an authentic and raw lens and venture off of the beaten track!

Great communication from Igor, who tailored the experience with the Winery to suit our schedule. Guide, Richard, picked us up on time and drove us to the Tokaj region, explaining all the history of the area's over the centuries and then acted as an additional translator at the Château Grand Bari Winery. Fantastic tour of the vineyard by Somellier, Matus, starting with opening a bottle of fizz with a sword in the beautiful sunny setting amongst the vines and culminating in a 9 glass wine tasting in the cellars, and all for €29, which was incredible value for money.
Finished with a lovely lunch on the Winery terrace where receptionist, Tunde's, recommended lunch also proved a winner.
Returned to Kosice, where Richard took us around some local pubs, again explaining the history of the town and architecture and even arranged a private visit to the subterranean museum!
All in all, it was a brilliant day and fabulous experience at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended, well done guys 👏

Juraj was very kind and helpful as a guide to my grandparents home town in Slovakia. I left with an understanding about my Carpathian German roots from Slovakia/Hungary with a better understanding of history in this area. Juraj's research beforehand filled gaps and corrected our information. We were unable to complete our lineage in the US as we we did understand how the town changed spelling so much throughout history. Juraj has a great knowledge of history and languages.

We had a pleasure to visit Kosice and stroll through the city with Lubka. We were the only attendees on the August morning - and it was a great experience. Many interesting facts, lots of anecdotes and a great deal of fun convinced us to go back to Kosice in the future. Happy to recommend the tour with Lubka!
(Social distancing and masks are recommended, but it isn't a problem at all. It's a silly year, after all 😷)
