I absolutely loved St. Elizabeth's and went in on every one of my three days in the city.
A combo ticket is available to cover the cost of entry to the cathedral, the crypt and the spiral staircase inside as well as the steps up to the tower outside. For an extra euro it allowed access to the small Chapel next door. All only six euro.
Beautiful gothic cathedral with huge columns and vaulted ceiling. The altar was a beautiful golden triptych and the place was resplendant in bright light coming in through the many, many stained glass windows.
Although the cathedral is about 600 years old, there has obviously been extensive renovations/restoration as the place looks absolutely pristine.
The spiral staircase is a must as you get a birds eye view of the interior and the tower is fantastic as you get absolutely the best view of Kosice from the top, 164 stone-cut steps up.
Outside is beautiful too, especially when the golden sunlight lights up the stone.
Honestly, the highlight of any visit to Kosice, I just couldn't get enough of the place.

Košice is an absolutely lovely town, I would say, a must-have Slovakia experience. A rather southern experience in mood, too, not just the location :)
Walk aound, enjoy yards, passages and cafes.
I could not visit any museums, as we were visiting during the high holiday time, so, no museum review this time.

Loved this place, something completely different. The executioners quarters were gruesome, as were the torture chambers. The prson kitchens are on the tour, as are the cells. The audio guide included waa brilliant.
Highlight for me was the basement/dungeons under the prison. Excellent value at €5.

One of the most photogenic buildings in Kosice I would say. It's located near the cathedral on the road to the main bus and train stations, next to Mestskey Park.
To my knowledge its not visitable on the inside, but it's definitely worth a photo stop.

Lovely ornate monunent to victims of the plague right on the main drag, Hlavna. It's about 100m beyond the Opera House, and about a three minute walk from the cathedral.
I'd be a oity to miss it.

Theatre is located in the centre of Kosice. It has beautiful architecture. It is one of only two theatres in Slovakia, the other one being the National Theatre in Bratislava, to be home to opera, ballet as well as drama.

Lovely views of the city and wll warth the short journey out of town.
Bus No.29 goes from outside the main train and bus station and takes about 15 or so minutes. Coat is €1 each way for adults.
At the stop you then walk uphill through the forest along a well worn path to the Lookout. There is a car park there also.
It does close seasonally but never fear, there is another viewpoint 100m from it along the path on the ridge.
There are castle ruins there and a skansen-type reconstruction of a medieval village complete with small museum and toilets.
There was a little food truck there serving snacks.
Tip- get two bus tickets in the city, one for each way of the journey as there is no ticket machine up there. There is one at the city end.

A very nice location in a former industrial area. The burgers were tasty and the beer was great.
    Staff was okay.

I'm not hugely into shopping but I ended up here one evening for a bit of food.
It's bright, modern, well lit and pleasant. Loads of good shops and high street brands. Excellent food court.

Tiny Chapel next to the massive cathedral but we'll worth a visit. You can get a combo ticket in the cathedral.
It dates from 1380 and the guide told me it's mainly used now for weddings, funerals abd sometimes on Sundays.
Well worth taking in this little gem.
