Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The old town in Bratislava is an enchanting mix of narrow streets and tall buildings. Here is the old Town Hall, the city Museum and the only remaining town gate. Restaurants and cafes crowd the atmospheric centre. Take time to explore and learn the details of the fascinating buildings.

This was one of my favorite outings in my two weeks in Eastern Europe. It was easy to get to from Bratislava- a nice little bus ride. It was an absolutely gorgeous day for it too. A short walk to the castle grounds then a nice walk up! Not for those with mobility issues.. it’s a bit of a steep climb and stairs on the castle itself. Amazing views 360° around and carefully restored history. Lots of little corners to explore and we even found a little coffee truck for a quick recharge. The exhibits inside were really interesting especially the one about the iron curtain. I learned so much! You can take the extended pathway back down for a nice stroll through the trees. At the bottom there are few nice spots to have a beverage and a snack too. There was a bit of road construction when we were there but it didn’t hinder our bus ride back.

The place is nice, not more.

If you have the time while you are in Bratislava - jump over and visit.

    The gardens are small

One of monument in Bratislava with more than 500 years history, few times upgraded and reconstructed as it was part of protection to invasion of medieval attackers. The Gate and tower go hand in hand. Great observation, located in Old Town with many restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and attractions shops

Well worth visiting the ufo tower. Good views over the old city and the river Danube.
The lift up is just a short ride and then up a few steps to the viewing platform.
I had a beer in the cafe/ restaurant which was nice to warm up inside and relax overlooking the city.

The heart ❤️ of Old Town, place for markets in Christmas 🎄 time. Very small, connected to many street with pubs, restaurants, coffeehouses and shops, few hundreds meters away from castle 🏰 stairs and Michalska gate. Neighbouring with Frantiskanske square and old municipality house

One of the oldest historical building, more than 500 years old. Remaining gate, one of four ones in past. Attracting visitors, connected to busy streets of old town serving tourists with restaurants, 🍺 or coffee ☕️.

Mixture of walking passage, park with old trees 🌳 and number of restaurants, coffee shops or pubs. Nice hideout in summer heat, connecting National theatre 🎭 and famous New Bridge 🌉

Its a lovely fountain that depicts Ganymed being carried to the top of Mt Olympus so he can serve the gods. Below that are children or figures holding fish from the Danube river. However, due to the time we were there, no water was issuing from the fishes mouths as the fountain was bare of water for the winter period. However, it is still a lovely piece of sculpted architecture. It is located in front of the National theatre which in itself is a lovely building worth seeing.

The trip to Cachtice (Legends and countryside tour) was amazing. Brano was so fantastic guide. The castle ruins with all the stories of Elizabeth Bathory were worth to see. Also the landscape was breathtaking.

Milan Stefanik was something new for us, also interesting. We learned a lot of the history.

We didn't have time to visit Piestany, but this was OK for us. Cachtice castle ruins was the main target for us.

Authentic Slovakia minivan was good for our small group and there was also the safety seat for little child.

Excellent experience with Tereza and Bratislava food tours. Great selection of venues and food choices and Tereza was really knowledgeable not only about the food but also Bratislava. Highly recommended and by far the best food tour I did in my time in Europe.

May/June 2024. 16 Days - Vienna, Prague, Slovakia, Kraków, Auschwitz and Budapest.

If you are reading this review, you most likely are a smart and experienced traveler, and have already read all the previous reviews expressing their unqualified endorsement of “Best Slovakia Tours”. It would be a waste of both our time to reiterate everything that has been consistently stated before in the previous reviews. It’s all true. You’ve had the good fortune to click on a true gem in the world of international travel. Please take a moment to consider these things:

Private travel is your best option for your personal vacation Return on Investment. Your budget should never be compromised by itineraries designed to appeal to the large group, where expectations and results are diluted into boring photo moments and then you are herded onto the next staged scene. As experienced world travelers we have found “Best Slovakia Tours” is, without a doubt, the most flexible and receptive for making custom itineraries to meet your travel desires.

Even the best itineraries suffer from the realities of “unintended consequences”. Weather, personal illness, religious holidays, fatigue, and other unforeseen obstacles can change the plans for any given day. It is the mark of a truly professional guide that can quickly adjust “on-the-fly” and come up with a “Plan B” for any given day. It is without any reservations that we say that the most special moments, the peak experiences of our 15 day trip, occurred outside of our written itinerary It was magical. It was the trip of our dreams.

Finally, spending over two weeks with an individual has the potential of being somewhat awkward. Dependability, punctuality, empathy, personality all become critically important when you turn your care and well being over to a stranger. We were delighted to learn, within the first 15 minutes of meeting, that Peter Blazicek checked all the boxes.

As an additional bonus, Peter’s wife and Business Manager, Janka was equally delightful and gently guided us through all the pre-trip obstacles. Meeting her and Peter and sharing special moments with them is something that we will remember forever.

“Best Slovakia Tours” is a small, passionate, professional company dedicated to providing the best custom experience to its customers possible. They consistently hit their mark (TripAdvisor Top Award!) and provide their guests everything and more than they contract for.
