Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- AndythebaggieBirmingham, UK3,285 contributionsThe old town is a lovely area to stroll around, with a pleasant ambiance. The number of ice cream parlours is surprisingly high. Some fine architecture especially the Opera House to enjoy.Written 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Old guy travelsHouston, TX290 contributionsWe tries to go to the castle but unfortunately the roads were flooded which did not allow Bus 29 to take us there, however here is some information on how to get there.
Update Sep 2024. Catching bus 29 from the bus station under the UFO bridge is easy. Buses run every half hour. Tickets are purchased with coins from the ticket machine. Tickets purchase is based on time. so a 30 minute should be OK or 60 minute ticket will cover any eventuality. There are machines that take credit card but I di not see one at this bus station. There are electronic board showing bus times and bus stop number. Bus stop A is on the main road under the bridge and not clearly visible. If 29 goes from A that day just look around and you'll see it.
Day tickets for two zones are cheap and give you access to all trams for 24 hours. This is a good ticket when hopping on and off all dayWritten 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can’t help raise a smile to it. Especially as in England it would without doubt be banned as a trip hazardWritten 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kate HColorado155 contributionsThis is definitely worth your time because it has amazing views and tons to learn about this little known (to us) place and its history. It is more of a museum than a castle (although it IS a castle), so the rooms are full of art, artifacts, and information. We most enjoyed the timelines shared throughout and going to the tippy-top of the tower (although it's hot up there!).Written 24 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kate HColorado155 contributionsThis is a beautiful and interesting church from the outside- access to the interior was closed. It is worth the walk from Old Town as you get to see some more of the city and then this gem pops out at you.Written 24 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Owner Kludsky EntertainmentNew York City, NY319 contributionsI really liked the whole experience. I liked the area where the exhibition is located and I think it's a good idea on how to present art. There is a restaurant near by. It's a nice place for a walk or just to enjoy yall's time outdoors.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveller162014Leeds, UK1,713 contributionsImpressive and memorable statue and memorial. There was a bit of an uphill struggle to get here, but I'd say it was worth it. Some nice views of the city from here too.Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jacob DBrighton, UK94 contributionsReally impressive tower, although probably won't take you more than half an hour to have good luck and get photographs.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah-AprilNottingham, UK413 contributionsHuge! Range of stores and something for everyone. I must have been here about 2 hours just wandering and looking around. Great shops, great places to eat and the yard outside is beautiful on a sunny day to sit and relax near the fountain.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Soko37Budapest, Hungary13,671 contributionsThe heart ❤️ of Old Town, place for markets in Christmas 🎄 time. Very small, connected to many street with pubs, restaurants, coffeehouses and shops, few hundreds meters away from castle 🏰 stairs and Michalska gate. Neighbouring with Frantiskanske square and old municipality houseWritten 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roger D3 contributionsSmall but nice old town to visit...issue was the weather which was very hot and stuffy.
As it was very hot, we went to uphill Bratislava, in the forest named Banzik. Take a Bolt drive to the TV Towe, it's only a 15mins drive from the city centre. It was a pleasant and gentle 2 hours hiking experience in the forest. Afterwards, you can go on top of the TV tower for a nice view of Bratislava. The cost is 6 euros each. There is a nice revolving restaurant on top and you get the entrance fee refunded if you have a main course there. So, it's nice to know...We had planned to go to the lake nearby for a swim but I fell sick, so it got cancelled.Written 20 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The flow is well thought out starting from the top floor and making your way down thru different periods of art. The QR codes beside the paintings worked well. The show stopper for us was the special exhibition of work by Eric Binder. This is not a huge gallery and can be easily done in about 1 - 1/2 hours depending on how much time you want to linger.Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sunsuenycNew York City, NY37 contributionsThe Old Town Hall houses a museum, and the ability to have an elevated view of the old town area. The museum is very informative about the history of Bratislava, if that interests you. Many things to see and learn about. The best part of this visit though is the view from the top of the tower. There's an outside area where you can view the surroundings from all sides of the tower. Highly recommend adding this to your visit to Bratislava.Written 20 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - maserkColorado Springs, CO1,859 contributionsThis cathedral is conveniently close to the Bratislava Castle and should not be missed if you're in that part of town. It's also quite near the dock for the Twin City Liner (hydrofoil from Vienna), so that's the first place we went when we arrived. The exterior doesn't look at that impressive. But the inside is lovely; and we were treated to an impromptu organ recital when the organist suddenly started playing a few pieces. It was such a treat! Historically, the kings and queens of Hungary were coronated in this cathedral, which is pretty cool.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveller162014Leeds, UK1,713 contributionsWe spent a good amount of time here. The ticket price included a lot! Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in history. Our ticket also involved going up the clock tower which served as an excellent viewpoint.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
