Did not realize that this small statue had a name, but did learn the story behind it on our tour. Many of the streets had interesting markers and manhole covers, but this beats them all.

Cute church, interesting style. I'm glad we didn't force ourselves to get up at 6am to see the inside, since during it's non-working hours, you can still go in through first doors and see the inside through the glassed second doors

Situated at the top of a hill with views of the city, this can be quite a climb on foot. Suggest taking a taxi and then climbing down.

A wide expanse of a place with an impressive column at the heart of it. It was very quiet when we visited and the place felt somber and peaceful.

You can get views of the Bratislava castle on one side and the rest of city from the other end.

As you walk around in the streets of the old town you will gaze upon this tower frequently. It is possible to go up and get a view of the old town.

Makes for some really pretty pictures.

Nice small square with some beautiful buildings and a few small shops. Really busy hub of activity. Few benches to sit on to just sit and watch all that is going on.

Tower Michaels gate is the only tower of the old city walls that is left. It is at the end of St Michaels street. It used to sit over a moat surrounding the old city in the 1300's. It is a must see if the old city as its one of the oldest buildings in town.

10 euros is really good value. You get access to the entire Town Hall and also the museum next door in the Primatial Palace. Combined you get a broad sweep of Slovakian history from the Middle Ages to the Soviet era. The highlight is the bell tower and the office half-way up which is beautifully preserved and then the view from the top. English translations are pretty poor... so you're mainly looking at stuff.

We ended up here by accident after a walk along the waterfront. We ended our walk with a late breakfast at McDonalds, later realizing that we were in this mall.

Really like the idea of the circus theme statues scattered about the property, with the window-ceiling that is akin to a circus dome. Happening upon each statue is like an Easter Egg hunt. Look in every direction!

I can see from the photos of other TA entries that there are a lot of other statues I did not see, including outside.

Otherwise, this is a nice, slick mall that is surprisingly large, within walking distance of the tourist areas, and a lot of shopping options.

This was the coronation church of the Hungarian empire from 1563 to 1830. Queen Maria Theresa was crowned here. The church and was rebuilt in the 18th century with a Baroque appearance. It has the remains of St John the Merciful from 620.

Very nice little cafe, the cats are rescues, they are friendly and well looked after, the staff were excellent as were the ice tea and milkshakes.

This was out favorite area in Bratislava, a very picturesque little street with lots of trees, statues, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Right next to the river, it is a great place to walk down or sit and relax.

We didn’t expect to find one of Napoleon's soldiers in Bratislava, but here he is. Right in front of the French Embassy in the main square. He must be the most photographed 'man' in town. Everyone stops to get a photo. Why not?

The statue stands on one corner of the main Square in the old town outside Cafe Mayer.

Schöner Náci was the son of a shoemaker and grandson of a famous clown, also Ignác Lamár, and was inspired by the latter's example to bring happiness to the streets of the city. He walked around the Old Town and in particular the stretch from Michael's Gate to the river, in top hat and tails, greeting women with the words, “I kiss your hand” in German, Hungarian and Slovak. He received free food from several of the city's cafes, and supported himself with occasional cleaning work.

Plenty of opportunity to take a fun picture with it when it is not too crowded.

Fun outing just outside of the city center, to see the changing of the guard. I believe it was at 12:00pm. You could climb up to see the Slavin monument while you are in this part of town.

It is not the most exciting or elaborate 'changing of the guard' I've seen in my travels, but something to add to your list of things to do in Bratislava.
