Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bratislava old town Slovakia is stunning and well worth a visit we found a little cafe called Underground which is a cafe inside a old war bunker shelter it is very quirky where you can purchase various herbal teas, alcoholic teas coffees and food it is very quirky. Relaxing and each area is based on a unique theme where you can enjoy your drink an food its over 10 m underground, an was the towns war shelter. It has a African room a Indian themed room etc we opted for the Chinese themed room. Bratislava is stunning with lots to see an do. I would recommend a visit to this beautiful town.

If you haven't been alerted in advance to look for this statue, it comes as a marvelous surprise. “Cumil” in Slovakian reportedly means “watcher” (apparently making fun of the work ethic of public workers). There are two hypotheses about what the statue portrays: 1) the “watcher” is trying to get a look under ladies’ skirts; or 2) perhaps he’s a typical communist-era worker who works little and watches a lot? Either way, it's one of the most photographed spots in all of Bratislava.

Well worth going out of your way for and only a 5 minute walk from the centre.

If this church was in a different location in a more prestigious city, it would be a major tourist attraction. It's unique in it's design and colour; very interesting.

The Bratislava Castle is an imposing structure that sits on a hill high above the city. It has a history going back hundreds of years, but has been renovated and rebuilt over and over. The latest reconstruction was in the 1950s and 1960s and although the reconstruction follows some of the historical characteristics, it is also a mix of styles from different eras.

I'm of the opinion that we still owe huge respects to those who fought and died in the war so always look to take in such sites wherever we travel to. We walked from the Palace and the 20 minute google time turned into a 40 minute uphill trek. Be prepared. I'm almost 60 and was panting.

Great views and emotional with mass graves - imagine the 6000 Russians peasants who have their lives without any attachment to the city - but it's quite basic in what it offers so come with realistic expectations.

The journey down was much quicker.

The main square in Old Town Bratislava. The square is surrounded by the Old Town Hall, several palaces, and embassies (including the French Embassy with taunting Napoleon statue). Great views of the square from the top of the Old Town Hall Tower.

Old Town was fantastic and fun. So many good restaurants and beautiful buildings. The site of the Christmas Market and Christmas Tree. We thoroughly enjoyed Old Town and wish we had a few more days to repeat some of our favorite places to eat and drink.

As you walk under the gate your first impression of the capital will be inspiring. Fresh and active with outgoing people, the many cafes and bars are lined along the street emanating from the entrance. The dome is scaffolded and under repair in June of 2022.

Nedbalka Gallery may not be a very big one but it is certainly worth visiting because of its unique interior architecture.Start browsing at the artworks from the top floor before start walking your way to the lower floors.

Medium-sized Gothic cathedral with a spire that towers 85 meters above the city skyline. The church was the coronation cathedral for numerous monarchs of the Kingdom of Hungary over the years. It dates back to the 12th century but with the usual many renovations and reconstructions along the way. The interior has some beautiful elaborately carved altars but the rest of the interior is without much ornateness; There is an interesting crypt below. There is no fee to enter or tour the church.

This was out favorite area in Bratislava, a very picturesque little street with lots of trees, statues, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Right next to the river, it is a great place to walk down or sit and relax.

Viewpoint access was free but museum was not. Museum has a number of different buildings and exhibits, we only did the rooftop viewpoint.

It is so lovely, as an American, to see such an incredibly beautiful building with the name "Philharmonic" on the top. How lucky Bratislava is to have such a beautiful place.
