Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Global603709194022 contributionsMy boyfriend and I rented 2 bikes for a 35-mile roundtrip ride along the Danube. My bike was more comfortable than my bike at home. The owners are really friendly and easy going. Please note, the location of this business has changed and you will need to get in touch with them directly to rent/pick up a bike.
I am happy to support this small family business and would rent from Bike Bratislava again in the future. We can't wait to visit Bratislava again.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very happy with the car performance and the young man Daniel who did all the explanations and tips for us. We will definitely use this company again.Written 1 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Yvonne M3 contributionsExcellent bike hire. Rado was very good at suggesting routes as lots of the bike paths were closed due to flooding. Easy to book bikes out and return. Quality of bikes were good and we were supplied with helmets, locks and repair kits. Lovely to cycle along the Danube and visit Danubina Sculpture Park and take the ferry to cycle back on the otherside.Written 24 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RicardosMaximusBristol, UK3 contributionsHired 2 bikes for myself & partner for a 9 day unguided trip to Budapest. Arrangements made by email with Lubica who always replied promptly in perfect English. She also arranged delivery of the bikes to our hotel in Bratislava & again picked the bikes up at our hotel on our return. This service was free and very prompt! The bikes (CTM) were light & durable, although I had to get my chain tightened a little in Hedervar (Hungary), this is to be expected. Apart from that, neither of us experienced any bother. Also, the following were provided free too: long locks, helmets, repair kit with spanners & multi-tool & spare inner tubes, bottle carrier & tool bag. Panniers were 10 euro per pair for the whole trip duration. Outstanding value at 254 euro all in for both bikes for 9 days and all arranged online. I'd like to extend my thanks to Lubica & her team for making our trip so easy to arrange & providing such an efficient service - you won't find anyone better. Give them a try!Written 21 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The guys that worked in Up! City were friendly and very helpful. Only €14 for 6 hours. Well worth it. The first time we went to Devin castle and then carried on over the "Chuck Norris" bridge into Austria. We found a circular route through small Austrian villages all on cycle tracks and the scenery was magnificent.
The second time we followed the Danube the other way and went into Hungary. Just as lovely and again all on cycle tracks. I would recommend Up city cycle hire. It will make your holiday.Written 20 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Brano was responsive and proactive with his communication, providing additional information that we may like to use throughout our bike ride. Brano supplied 3 bikes, 2 bicycles (with panniers) and an e-bike. All equipment was included, e.g., tools, bike locks, helmets. The drop off and pick up was very smooth. The accommodation Brano arranged was fantastic. Breakfast included, as an option, we had an arranged dinner at one of the countryside locations. We rode on average 40kms per day, this allowed for ample stops to visit significant sites, and lunch stops along the way. We highly recommend BikeSlovakia.Written 30 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Graeme B2 contributionsA friend hired a Brava car in Lisbon for us to use on a surf trip to Ericeira . The price was amazing. 40 Euros for 10 days! The car was an old model (8 years) with close to 100,000kms on the clock. On the last day it broke down on the freeway on the way back to Lisbon when the clutch failed and I couldn't change gears. Brava cars sent a driver to pick me up and took me to their office where I expected to get an apology and a replacement car for the rest of day until the flight home. INSTEAD they said the clutch failure was my fault and deducted over 600Euros from my friend's credit card because of the hold they had on the card from the initial payment. This was despite us refusing to accept the cost, them knowing it was an old car and the extremely unlikely possibility that it could have been driver negligence. And all this with absolutely no communication about how they would prove their view that it was our fault. Our insurance only covers damage through accidents so the only route we have now is to sue them, which we are busy with now. Like the old saying goes, 'if it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is'.Written 13 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - q1219New York93 contributionsTook a 3.5 hour iron curtain bike tour with Lubica, and we had a great time. Biked to Austrian border , then to ww2 bunker, where we got the royal treatment from “ curator “,, yes he needed to get his generator to get lighting going inside bunker, but you can tell his passion for his “save the bunker” campaign. Many interesting spots along the way, great guide, great time. All in all we biked roughly 30 km, but it felt like 10!Written 14 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
