Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice activity to visit when staying in Bratislava - just a 20 minute bus ride away from Most SNP bus stop (stop g from memory, under the bridge). We spent a good few hours there wandering around the castle and it’s grounds. There are a few exhibition rooms which provide a good amount of the history and explain the recent excavation activities that have been done. Some stunning views of you get good weather.

Viewpoint access was free but museum was not. Museum has a number of different buildings and exhibits, we only did the rooftop viewpoint.

Entry for an adult was 6 Euro. On the ground floor it had an exhibition focusing on china and the Habsburgs. At the first floor rocks and fossils, and on the other floors stuffed animals, birds and so on. A lot to take in.

There is some confusion amongst the reviews here. There are 2 separate Jewish museums. This Jewish museum is on the West of the old city and is open all year round. It has a number of Jewish religious items on the first floor (not particularly specific to Bratislava), and on the second floor details the history of the Slovakian Jews, the Holocaust and the post-Holocaust period. The narrative is lacking depth, and a number of key facts are missing such as why most surviving Jews left Slovakia post-WW2 (there were pogroms against the survivors by Slovakians who had effectively stolen the houses of the Jews that were sent to the concentration camps and were reluctant to return the houses to their rightful owners!). The secretary mentioned that they are looking to expand the exhibition, funding permitted.

There is a separate museum called the Jewish community museum, on the site of the old synagogue. It is closed in the winter, but if you email they can open up for a fee on request.

If you love the castle pay the 10€ to see the inside, it wasn’t worth it to me. Many rooms almost empty with just 1 or 2 pieces of furniture. The paintings on the top floor was my favourite. Signs and descriptions in english was few and far between. Save it for a rainy day, the outside of the castle is wonderful with a great view of the river and city.

After we actually found it I have to say it’s not worth it, there is little or no English information available, I could not see any leaflets or audio guides. The artefacts are nothing you would not have seen in any other museum of this type,
There are only a smattering of rooms open when we visited with staircases cordoned off so I have no idea if there are other exhibits to have been seen.
