Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely Gothic cathedral right in the old town. It’s a great spot to visit while in Bratislava.

Though it may not be as good as some of Europe’s other cathedrals like the one in Vienna, it still has its own charm and history. I couldn’t visit the inside during my trip as there was a mass happening and it was closed to tourists.

The building stands out from its surroundings with a small square and a charming fountain. It’s worth visiting inside as it’s usually not crowded and has an affordable entry fee.

While not as famous as palaces in other countries, it’s still a great place to see.

In July 2024 we've been back to Bratislava for a few days and we have visited - again - the castle of Bratislava.
Since we were walking, coming from the direction of the old town - obviously we've been entering the Castle premises via the the Sigismund gate.
It got it's name from Sigismund of Luxemburg - Hungarian, Croatian, Roman, and Bohemian king and lets not forget Holy Roman Emperor between 1387–1437 ( mentioning that he was crowned at different periods of time in Hungary, Bohemia , etc. - however he was ruling altogether 50 years over several countries and eventually an Empire).
The gate is still impressive and according to the details as you can find if you are researching a bit ( or simply walk the castle hill with both eyes open and reading the divers signs here an' there ...) it is looking the same way since 1515 ... so more than 500 since it got this appearance.
A nice architectural piece, part of the fortification of the castle of Bratislava , when visiting for sure it is worth some minutes of your time and some pictures.

Whilst in Bratislava we found the Pharmacy Salvator
A beautiful Art Nouveau building Which photographs really well but does look unloved and in need of some TLC

Don't expect anything too special, this is just a street with some nice buildings and trees, very lovely during fall time.

This building is the 18th Century classical style Archbishop's Palace. Now the building is the Bratislava natural residence. There is limited admission since it is a residence. Areas open to give guests an idea of the architecture style and interior decoration.

This is certainly a narrow house presently being used as a kebab shop. Interesting to see but of no great signifance from a tourist perspective. The upstairs is used as accommodation.

Traveling from Vienna to Bratislava by train and arriving to Main station. Relatively small place to standard of similar cities. It's logistic hub for trains, taxis, buses and trams. Old building, few stalls and shops, looks more like market than this century transport hub. Messy, smelly, good for shooting movie from last century

While visiting the wonderful Christmas market in Hlavne Námestie you cannot fail to be impressed with the amazing architecture of this square and Kutscherfeldov Palac is one of the many type of buildings that make up this square.
This is one of the smallest palace buildings in Bratislava, like a lot of the buildings in this square it's built in the Rococo style of architecture that is so pleasing on the eye, constructed by 1762 it's was owned by the royal property in Magyaróvár, Count L Von Kutcherfeld, the palace was the home from 1847 of the famous Russian composer A G Rubinstein and from 1991 became the French Embassy and French Institute.
We visited the Christmas market every day in this square and loved the architecture which was a stunning backdrop to the magnificent Christmas market.
Easy to locate on Hlavne Námestie and most definitely well worth checking.

Walking around the wonderful Old Town street's of Bratislava you will be dazzled by the amazing architecture that abounds in this city ,just off arguably the most beautiful square in this city namely Hlavne Námestie and on a street called Radnicna you will pass through Aponiho Palace.
This awesome looking building built between 1761- 1762 in the splendid Rococo style of architecture that is so pleasing on the eye is now part of the Bratislavian City Museum complex,it houses the Museum Of Viticulture and The Museum Of Historical Interiors, it's been a museum complex since 1932 and is one of the standout pieces of architecture in Bratislava, my twin brother Stephen and I were in this most beautiful of cities over the Christmas period and this building looked awesome both day and night, makes for some great photographic opportunities.
Easy to locate on Radnicna in the beautiful Old Town and in an area of outstandingly beautiful architecture and packed with pubs, bars and restaurants .
    Well worth checking out.

In arguably the most beautiful square in Bratislava namely Hlavne Námestie there are amazing buildings on all sides with the Town Hall ( Stará Radnica ) being the most eye catching but Jesenakov Palac on the far corner of this square is yet another beautiful structure.
The beautiful facade looks amazing, very symmetrical and very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunities, we were here over the Christmas period and visited the great Christmas market held in the square ,we enjoyed the magical Christmas Market that had the amazing architecture especially Stará Radnica and of course the Jesenakov Palac as stunning backdrops.
Easy to locate on Hlavne Námestie and most definitely well worth checking out.
