Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Did not realize that this small statue had a name, but did learn the story behind it on our tour. Many of the streets had interesting markers and manhole covers, but this beats them all.

We didn’t expect to find one of Napoleon's soldiers in Bratislava, but here he is. Right in front of the French Embassy in the main square. He must be the most photographed 'man' in town. Everyone stops to get a photo. Why not?

This statue is a fun surprise off the main square. Of course you have to snap a photo with him! Nothing wrong with being a tourist.

Pur guide made this claim because there were about 6,000 graves next to the Danube River. As the river level rose, they moved all graves to higher ground except for 23 (one of which is Schreiber one of the famous Jewish Rabbis).

I really liked this statue. She is located on the way up to the castle. Got a picture of my wife with her and we had a laugh. It's apparently a character of a fairy tale, not sure which. Grab a photo with her on the way to the castle.

This monument is a memorial commemorating the liberation of Bratislava by the Red Army on 4 April 1945, specifically by the forces of the 2nd Ukrainian Front in the Bratislava–Brno Offensive.

The monument features a pedestal of polished red granite in a triangular shape tapering at the top and forming a flat square area that has a sculpture of Victoria depicting walking uphill with her right hand outstretched and holding out an olive branch.

I like this monument for the way it has a sense of movement and expression of joy at the liberation of the city.

The story of this lion dates back to the time when Euro was introduced. Some people say it's one of the three largest lions in the world made of tyre material.

I thought the castle was a little underwhelming but I really this statue. It was in the forecourt of the castle. It proudly dominates the front of the castle projecting strength over the area and looks like a protector sitting over the surrounding countryside. It sits on a big stand that is really grand and in my opinion, the best feature of the castle.

What an impressive statue and what away to commemorate this man. The statue sits on the banks of the Danube close to the Eurovea shopping centre. It is huge statue of the man. Worth a visit.

If you visit Devin Castle than you can't really miss this monument!

Dedicated to those who died in the area during the cold war/iron curtain era.

Interesting history is all around this area.

Large statue featuring someone not holding a weapon for once (as those statues seem plentiful in Bratislava). Yes, I know the statue is of a poet, so of course he'd be holding a pen, but it was noteworthy enough to make me chortle.

A statue of a town guardsman in a small hut in the town square.

There are some texts on the side of the hut which described there was wooden guardhouse from the 17th to the 18th century in the southern part of the square. When it was burnt down, a brick guardhouse was built in its stead but was removed from the square in the 1860s.

This monument stands in tribute to Elizabeth of Hungary, also known as Saint Elizabeth. She is a greatly venerated Catholic saint who was notable for giving up her royal privileges and building a hospital where she herself tended to the sick.

This monument is a beautiful Baroque sculpture depicting the saint standing over a destitute man lying on the ground with his crutches next to him. The saint holds in the inside of her left elbow a bouquet of roses and with her right hand she is passing a piece of bread to the man. Alluding to the miracle of the roses attributed to her and her charitable work caring for the sick.

The statue is in the grounds of Bratislava Castle, which is free to enter the ground. It’s worth a look if in the area.
