I've been on day trips in many countries and this was one of the worst tours I've ever been on. First, Simeon, the tour guide and driver, who was supposed to pick me up couldn't find my address even though he had GPS. I sent him a pin and he still couldn't find me. He was just up the block so I walked up to meet him. Second. when we arrived at Budapest, it turned out we're on the Pest side and didn't see more than half of the locations on our itinerary including Buda Castle, Slavin Memorial, and Devin Castle. Simeon told us we could walk across the bridge to Buda. Gee, thanks! There was no guided tour at St. Stephen's Basilica but he did show us where the ticket office was to purchase tickets to go up to the bell tower. Simeon spent the walking tour in Pest discussing the fiscal and economic policies of Nazi Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia in front of the Parliament. It was boring and dull and so was he. There was no mention of Budapest's history, culture, and national landmarks. Later, as he was dropping us all back at our hotels/homes, he dropped off a couple at the wrong hotel even though he picked them up at the right hotel in the morning. Seriously? Then he says he knows how to get to my apartment but when we arrive in my neighborhood, he asks me, "Are we there yet?" 😒 Simeon seemed pleasant enough but is one of the least interesting and knowledgeable guides I've ever had on a day tour. He needs to take a course or trail a better guide (if there are any at this company) on a tour to learn on how to do better.
