Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To say reaching the top in 30 degrees of afternoon heat and humidity was a trek would be an understatement. To say I was more than delighted that I did, would also be an understatement. The views are spectacular. The views are spectacular. Panoramic. There is an energy about this place that is hard to explain. It almost feels like you become revitalised after every viewing point.

The citadel is closed to be renovated. But it is worth to go there and see the beautiful view of Budabest especially at night. There is so dark so don’t forget to have a flashlight in your phone :)

Январь 2022, статуя и цитадель на реконструкции, подойти нельзя. Хотя по пути насладились видами Пешта, January 2022, the statue and the citadel are under reconstruction, it is impossible to approach. Although along the way we enjoyed the views of Pest,

Stopped in to check it out and glad we did. A church carved out the cave, there are quite a few things to look at, with different chapels allocated in the space. I especially liked the chapel with the wood carvings. You’ll see it as you cross the Liberty bridge.

Gellert hill is the place to go for a chilled evening and to enjoy the sunrise or sunset (apparently sunrise is the most impressive but it’s early !)

Loved the Gerald of Csanad Monument. Great place the start your hike to the top of the hill and see the Liberty Statue and all the amazing views! If your looking to just get to the Gerard of Csanad Monument it is a much shorter walk than it appears but make sure you go up even a little further as the views are stunning.

At the western (Buda) end of Elizabeth Bridge is a statue Elizabeth, the Hapsburg empress and Hungarian queen, and wife of Franz Joseph I. 'Sissi' (married at the age of 16) was popular among the Hungarians for her kindness, non-conformist behavior (just like the Hungarians she was constantly disagreeing with her husband, Franz Joseph) and her ability to speak Hungarian. She surrounded herself with Hungarian servants and advisers, and spent long periods in Hungary, especially in Gödölö, her summer residence. Tragically, she was assassinated by a deranged Italian anarchist in Geneva in 1898. She was rumored to have the Hungarian Count Gyula Andrassy as her lover (another point for the Hungarians against the Austrians!). The large bronze statue (1932, by Gyorgy Zala) stands in Dobrentei square surrounded by flower beds. The crowned Elizabeth is depicted in flowing royal robes, sitting on an elegant couch and holding flowers in her left hand. An inscription on the marble plinth reads, "Erzsebet Kirayn 1837 - 1898." In 1953, the communist government removed the statue, but in 1985 it was restored and placed at its present location. The statue is softly lit at night, and is accessible at all times with no entry fee.

Szent Gellert Square is a nice little square in front of the Gellert Hotel facing the River Danube.
The best option to go there is just by walking through the Liberty Bridge.
Also if you are there do not forget to go to check out the metro station of Gellert Square underneath (M4 line), which is a nice piece of architecture!

Built between the wars this bridge serves its purpose well transporting people to the ‘other’ side. Not surprisingly it was blown up by the retreating German army a testimony to its functionality and rebuilt after the war. In a time of peace its wonderful to reflect on the vagaries of man.

It is one of the richest arboretum in Hungary. It’s located in a huge area and has about 2000 trees, bushes and other plants, and flowers, of course. We got there by bus (27) from Moricz Zs. korter, it’s easy to find, only one stop. We were very lucky because the weather was sunny and the cherry trees were in bloom. It was really beautiful. We walked aroud and sat on a bench and relax. It’s calm and you can forget your problems there.

Pretty nice statue. You are lucky if you can get a photo of it, because it's very crowded and full of people trying to rip your money off.

We were recommended this street by a friend who said that it would be calm, not so many tourists and a lot to see. We didn’t quite agree. It was so much noise in the street and nothing to see. We felt it were a waste of time. Find something else to do than to walk in this street.

Enjoy the ReStart and new life after Corona and one of the biggest playgrounds in Budapest while the sunny days. Its a cool spot and option for a break if you plan a hike with your kids on the Gellert Hill!🦁 It has real nices slides which you can use to shorten the way down the hill and also some nice jumping options. Its on the backside of the hill and surrounded by trees, so you will have shadow and many benches to sit down for break too.
