Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can take the metro to the other side of the danube and take some pictures or enjoy a beer/wine. It's definitely worth to go.

    Nice and impressive from outside.
I was not inside, because I dont want to buy a ticket for entering a church.

Suggestion: there are several nice restaurants/coffee shops around the basilica. I suggest to sit down and enjoy the view.

Shoes that symbolize the suffering of Jews and other anti-Nazis in WW2. They are made of metal and many of them contain flowers left by tourists and residents.

This is a great way to get around and see the sights at your own pace. Easy to use and very affordable. I highly recommend the yellow tram.

Came over from England to visit this market. Loved the fact you had to show you were double jabbed to even get in (covid). It was full of different stalls selling gifts, trinkets, souvenirs etc as well as food stalls. Very wide selection of items at very reasonable prices. Felt very festive. Staff were lovely, stall holders as well. I was very impressed and would definitely visit again

This lovely street never ceases to be fun for a 30-minute stroll and some shopping.
Depending on the season, the street can be either packed or nearly empty. Either way - it's a lot of fun.

Finding a place to stay near Vorosmarty ter is definitely worthy. The place is unique, offering both walking roads (leading to the city's south ex. market hall) and the terminal of Budapest's metro line 1, which leads till Szechenyi, and all kind of shops across the streets (shopping, food, entertainment). The place is definitely the "good area" of Pest's city centre and staying there is one of the safest options.
However, the "night life" of Budapest's locals (buying drinks from markets and consuming them in squares) might frighten some people, even though it's actually a "classic" across most of the Buadpest squares, during night times (00:00-03:). Vorosmarty square probably has the least chances of unpleasant experiences.

Duna Palota ("Danube Palace") - a former casino, and today a venue and ticket office for Hungarian Concert's popular tourist shows. Located very conveniently in the center of the Old Town, on Zrinyi Utca, and the concerts are held place here almost 365 days a year. We attended the popular concert named Hungarian Folk Show. Duna Palota is medium size theater but beautiful and ceremonial.

My best suggestion - If you want to have a very good seats, book in advance on official site - the tickets category 1 (37 euros) and choose the rows between 5-8. Get the confirmation by email, print and bring it to cashier, be there at least 20 minutes before the show starts, you should have enough time to exchange your voucher to actual paper ticket. This is critical and important. On time when we exchanged our vouchers, it was a 10 people line before us, with one person in the case. And plus to this it was an incident - the couple who bought their tickets from third party was not able to exchange their confirmations due double sale. It was long conversation with a cashier who had stated - this is not my fault - go to your agency where you bought a tickets. This dispute took time and we were afraid that we wouldn’t have time before start the performance. Then it was also necessary to climb up the several fly of stairs.

So be there in advance and DON'T BUY the tickets from third party - book online on official site or personal on spot. In additional the official site proposes a taxi transfer if you need for 14 euros round trip. Plus if you want, you can add to your show tickets - the evening dinner cruise by Danube after show. The concert was good, with 10 minutes intermission. Dress code- possibly Smart Casual. While highbrow classical music buffs will want a more serious concert, these show is crowd-pleaser with national Hungarian music, dances and songs.

One is in awe when one visits Budapest. The architecture of this Imperial city is so magnificent that I can't put enough word to describe it. A city built by the Habsburg dynasty and proclaimed it as their Imperial capital; The Austro-Hungarian Empire. And the Gresham Palace is one of those buidlings, and worth a visit.

Szabadsag Square is a really cool place.
It is full of history. You can see the Russian monument and the statue of George Bush Sr. and Ronald Reagen statues.
    It is absolutely worth visiting!

I happened to get there right as it opened, so no line. You get to be on it for about 10 minutes and they stop at the top. You get some nice views of the city. I do not think this is a must-do in Budapest - but I did enjoy it, and happened to walk by it.

This is a selfie MUST location for tourists, as the statue of the little princess is absolutely adorable.
I keep visiting it each and every time I am in Budapest and each time - it makes me smile.

The weather was beautiful and the walk and views even more so. It is hard to know which side of the river to be on, and, at times, it is worth crossing back and forth for certain views.

We were walking along the Danube when we saw this beautiful building. We crossed over to investigate and found that it was a concert hall and museum. We enjoyed the interior of the building as much as some of the art displays. The glass and ceramic displays were beautiful. Since we are both senior citizens we didn't have to pay to enter (which we would certainly have done just to see the building). Good find!
