Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Shoes that symbolize the suffering of Jews and other anti-Nazis in WW2. They are made of metal and many of them contain flowers left by tourists and residents.

It is just a square. Good enough for 2-3 pictures. Not much to do here, but if you walk trough the front and go through it, there is a cool park behind it with a Castle to the right. Go there…

Its not really the statue itself, although it does have interesting history, but the whole castle complex, very beautiful, different, worth spending some time

Nice view at the Pest. Apart from the crowds that are here, it's worth to take a glance at the city and then quickly go somewhere else. Buda part of the city is pretty nice and peaceful.

This is a selfie MUST location for tourists, as the statue of the little princess is absolutely adorable.
I keep visiting it each and every time I am in Budapest and each time - it makes me smile.

If you’re a Columbo fan it’s well worth seeking out and grabbing a snap! Plenty of shops and things nearby. I wonder what Mrs Columbo would think 🤔 😂

We came across this interesting sculpture by chance when walking to dinner one evening. It's a very nicely done piece of street sculpture depicting the 'einstand', a bullying scene from the youth novel “The Paul Street Boys” written by the Hungarian author Ferenc Molnar in 1906. A very popular piece of literature in Hungary where it is considered as a 'classic', and it is also one of the most famous Hungarian novels outside of the country. The novel is about schoolboys in the Józsefváros neighbourhood of Budapest and set in 1889.

Budapest is covered in statues like this. As our tour guide put it, if you throw a stone in Budapest, you are likely to strike a statue. There isn’t much to say about this attraction, except that it wasn’t erected to honor anyone or commemorate anything, it was simply built as part of a city project to beautify and attract tourists. It is worth a visit, if only to touch the belly of the policeman and chuckle at its pointlessness.

The monument to Imre Nagy, a hero of the 1956 anti-Soviet uprising, is by local sculptor Tamás Varga. It depicts the former Hungarian Prime Minister on the side of a small arched bridge pensively looking towards Hungary’s national parliament. Nagy was the pro-reform Prime Minister in 1956, supporting those seeking to end hard-line communist rule. The 1956 revolt was crushed by Soviet tanks, pro-Moscow hardliners were reinstalled in power, and Imre Nagy was hanged in 1958 for his role in the uprising. The memorial was moved from Vertanuk Ter. (across from Kossuth Ter.) to Jaszai Mari Square near the Margaret Bridge in the summer of 2019. The Nagy monument was replaced by a memorial to the victims of the Red Terror, an attempted coup against the (short-lived) Hungarian Soviet Republic in 1919. The Republic ended the first week of August 1919 during the Hungarian–Romanian War, when Romanian forces occupied Budapest. The Red Terror memorial was in Vertanuk Ter. from 1934 to 1944. Both monuments are accessible at all times with no entry fee.

Located on the steps of parliament house, sits (literally), a bronze statue,(larger than life), of the famous Hungarian poet, Attila Jozsef, (1905-1937), the sculptor has captured his emotions, (looking forlorn), the visitor can take a seat next to him, looking at the Danube.

It is a nice monument but really controversial. Hungary was a victim of its stubborn and foolish politicians, which led the country into a complete tragedy.
    Worth seeing!

Statues on the left bank of the Danube.
You will come across them if you walk along the river between the Chain Bridge and the Elizabeth Bridge.

The Holy Trinity Column is just next to the Fishermen's Bastion and Matthias Church.
It is a nice column from where you can take cool photos of the Matthias Church .
