A friend and I went on a tour with Marcin for the Ghetto Uprising and the Warsaw Uprising. Despite the grim topics, the tour was amazing. Although there is very little left from the Ghetto Uprising, Marcin knows exactly where what remains are located and from that he develops a chronological narrative from the beginning of the uprising to the very end (the bunker where the holdouts made there last stand). Between pointing out remaining walls, streets, and buildings, supplemented by pictures and maps, we traveled across the former ghetto and got a close-up picture of where things took place and in what order they occurred. You'll see old streets and building from that time, the road bisecting the small and big ghetto and the location of the bridge over that road, and where the deportations took place. Marcin will show you where the battles took place and the sight of the last stand. Marcin will also explain the history of that time and what you had to do to survive and where you could have escaped. One of my favorite parts was seeing the last remaining free-standing ghetto wall (its on private property and only Marcin can show you where it is).
Marcin was a true delight of a guide. His English is fluent, he is highly educated, and he is passionate about his country. He works for his own company.
