Nice museum, there is a lot of exhibition available. MY favorite one was about Silesia. I like paints and exhibition Mumia and Glusza. I don`t like modern art. I hate covid exhibition. Sorry but for me its not a art. Overall nice way to spend raining day.

Due to my personal opinion that place is so big but there are some other places in Poland more worth to see. But I give 4 stars just because it looks okay.

If You have a chance to visit the place - You should definitely do it and enjoy both beauty of the building and its interior as well as acoustics which are definitely one of the best in Europe! It's very popular and busy - so tickets for major events are selling quickly. You should look for them in advance!

The best place to visit on any occasion! Great atmosphere, impressive collection and lots of interesting information. Mister Leszek takes real care to entertain his guests. He's really passionate about music and made my boyfriend want to start to play again.

This church is a key landmark in the town. It is lit up at night. Angel sculpted in lights in front of the church.

These three statutes represents the Silesian uprisings during 1919-20-21. You may read history on internet. It is quite catchy.

Katowice gets very little publicity which is a shame because there is much to see and do here. This museum is a highlight and a must for anyone interested in Polish and central European history. The staff are outstandingly friendly and helpful and the exhibits are first class. I came away feeling I'd really learned something!

A little bit hesitated I decided to go to Giszowiec after I visited Nikiszowiec. Actually I think you should go here as well. By bus it is a short distance and it is interesting to see the differences. Giszowiec is a very nice example of garden city architecture and you can easily stroll around. There is also supposed to be a cool sort of abandoned watertower but I had no time to see it. A big surprise was the visit to the community center in one of the old buildings in the parc in the heart of fhe neighborhood. A private tour by Angie who was very enthusiastic and energetic and who knew a lot was really nice and interesting. You see an old silezian kitchen some interested paintings about life in Giszowiec in the past and the former community house (still in use). Really nice to see. And by bus 672 (if im correct) you have from Giszowiec direct connection to the central station.

This amazing cultural zone is placed just 5 minutes from the Katowice Runek (Main Square). It is a large urban and contemporary space, where you will find how the history and the ideas for the future of the city are meeting one another. It is a complex comprising the Concert Hall (Spodek), in form of the Nonidentified flying object, Congress Center, half beneath the small artificial hill, half in black glass, Philharmonic, contemporary edition of the old red-bricks building in Silesia, and a Silesia Museum, 4 floors beneath the earth, with amazing complex of old and contemporary buildings turned into galleries and caffees. All this is conected with paths, fountains, trees and benches to have a time-out. Moreover, all this promises you a great afternoon stroll, and getting to know the live and cultural spirit of the town! When here you should definitely visit Silesia Museum, which is by all standards great: interactive, diverse, provocative and full of great contents! As their permanent exhibits, hey have a part dedicated to modern Polish art, simply amazing and refreshing, and a part dedicated to the history of all region, well organized, interesting and substantial! You have free entrance every Tuesday, and that is when you can see so many people strolling around here and enjoying the culture and history they have, and coffee and drinks in between. However, it is also worth to pay the entrance, which is inexpensive. The staff is super friendly and all of them speak English. You should definitely come and stroll around Strefa of you are in katowice- get something to drink, chat with polite Polish people around and enjoy the city spirit. It will take you 3-4 hours all, but you will have good memory of the city!

Located in a historical building, formerly the liveliest part of the local mine. Now exhibiting thought-provoking and hugely interesting art. Make sure to go up the stairs too and see some of the amazing paintings of the local genious Erwin Sówka.
