Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was so interesting to learn about the history of Poland and I’m so glad I visited. I didn’t no much history while walking into this museum and found this museum so informative. We used the audio tour which came in different languages which toured us round the museum. The museum was a respectful memorial but also showed us the brutality of what happened. We took the 2.5 hour tour but there was also an option of 1.5 hour. Would recommend

The museum is located close to the Gdańsk shipyards and is set in a iconic and magnificent building. The contents are very well laid out and in Polish/English languages.

It’s a sobering place and well worth a visit.

Visited the town hall after recommendations of friends who live in Gdansk! The entry price was equivalent to 3 euro. I really liked the temporary exhibition about the impact of war in Gdansk, it was really interesting. Then, when you enter the other building, you see the more luxurious rooms, but only one was impressive to me, the one which has the ceiling full of paintings. In this part, I was kinda disappointed. There was not much interesting information for me. Nevertheless, if you have time, you could go here, I would say it takes 1 hour to see everything if you read carefully.

Well worth going to have a look. It's really quite amazing what they can fashion out of Amber! Set in a lovely building.
Some parts of the museum were a little dimly lit for reading the info panels. Set over three floors. There's also a cafe too.

A decent museum, worth checking out. Yet another example of just how much was lost due to war and destruction. It's interesting to see just how much of actual court is reproduction.
Beyond that this place gives a nice insight into outlook of old Gdańsk.

Good museum giving a history of boats/shipping/sea faring in Poland. Lots of exhibits - most details are in Polish, however there are laminated cards at start of each area that can be read for explanation. There are a few interactive exhibits.
Ticket entry can include exploring the moored cargo ship along side the museum dock.
Worth a visit to fill 1-2 hours on a grey day

A small museum documenting the events that happened on September 1, 1939 at the beginning of World War II. Detailed explanations are provided in Polish and English about the crimes committed by the nazists here.
It also contains a small active post office.
If the museum is closed, you can find in the square in front some billboards summarizing the start of the war

Interesting place for children. You can experience science by touching it. In addition, interesting fortifications on Mount Gradowa and great views of the city.

I visited here as part of a bike tour and I'm glad they took us because I wouldn't have found it on my own. The place itself is not only beautiful but I love the location, right on the riverbank.

The Romanesque Cellar ("Piwnica Romanska") is on the side of the covered market ("Hala Targowa"), and it can be visited by organized tour only. A tour in English is available. The tour taxes approximately 20 minutes.
The first part is a visit to the collection of objects found during excavations in the cellar (very interesting!).
Then there is a short movie on the history of the cellar and the city of Gdansk (in Polish, with English subtitles).
Last, the cellar itself is visited, with overhead explanations of what you are seeing. The cellar is partly reconstructed, but extremely beautiful and interesting.
The tour is very well handled, and the cellar itself is quite amazing.

You are guided through pitch-black rooms and can rely only on your other senses (for me, it was mostly touch&hearing - the smelling didn't go all that well ^^'). You encounter many everyday objects - but without seeing them, some are really hard to identify. The guide is a visually impaired person who is able to answer all the questions you might have. In the last room, some everyday objects (like measurement stuff of braille writing tablet) are shown to you (as well as some braille books with pictures :)) - this was mega interesting, there are things we take for granted and never even realise doing/using them would be extra hard when you can't see. Our guide even showed us how she uses her smartphone - also so very interesting...

Very small museum. But, there are a ton of toys packed in there! Numerous toys from the last several decades. You could spend a few minutes in there, or an hour if you choose to really look at each toy. One gets a sense of what was available to children during the Soviet era. Entry price is very cheap, though if you want to take pictures the price goes up quite a bit more. That's OK - no need for photos. Keep the images all in your mind!
