Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some folks say, you need to stay in San Blas islands at least 2-3 days. But if you are short of time but still want to see the stunning little sandy islands with palm trees, 1day tour is still an option I fully recommend. You spend on the boat to islands + on the islands some 5 hours which is sufficient. You get to see 2 islands + the ship stops on a starfish spot. For me absolutely sufficient. Yes, you do not get to know the local people but you definitely see some beautiful spots...

And TaoTravel365 is actually ok, except for the driver we have got (arrived 30 minutes too late, we have to wait for him extra time during stops because one cigarette was not enough, the music was terrible indeed and the driving style also)

The trip with San Blas Adventures was definitely one of my life’s highlights. The crew was amazing and every day enthusiastic and good vibes, especially Yann the lead guide. Livvy and Aida did a great job in the kitchen and with the organization. We learned a lot about the Kuna culture and got many insights in their life. It was especially cool, that one of the guides, Hector, is a Kuna himself and could explain a lot about the culture and traditions.

I’ll definitely do the trip again!

Very nice place for a get away from the everyday life. Nice and calm place. Not much to do on the Island except swimming, reading and playing games. It was a very very bumpy ride to the port. We got very delayed because of a storm which is fair, but no one told us anything about it so we just sat in the car and waited for 40 minutes. We then got to the Island and found out that water was not included in the price and we didn't know we had to bring our own water... So we had to pay 2USD $ for 0,5L bottle of water... For two people we ended up buying 10 bottles... The food was mediocre with little variety (rice, fried fish or chicken and some Vegetables) which wasn't great for Vegetarians... We met some lovely people on our trip and talked for hours after dinner and watched a storm in the distance with a lot of lighting. The people on the Islands doesn't really speak English so be aware of that.

San Blas is something very special and this was a vacation we will never forget. The cabin is very basic but the beaches and the water make up for all the lack of amenities. Highly recommend booking with Tao Travel 365. Very Professional and great communication.

Everything about Yanice Island was absolutely lovely. It’s a quieter island which is what I was looking for. The dorm rooms are as expected (make sure to wear bug spray at night). There are bathrooms and showers (cold), but it’s important to be mindful of the island resources when using. I read a lot of reviews about bland food in San Blas, but that was not the case in Yanice Island. We had wonderful food everyday, and plenty of it! Just be sure you don’t leave you’re plate before you’re finished, because they clean up super fast. If it matters to you, bring some butter, sugar, and cream (although, we were fine without it). The family there is so nice and welcoming. They will communicate when meals are ready by blowing a conch, so listen up, because if you miss it, they won’t let you know. We got to go on several excursions, and we felt very safe all throughout. The excursions can take some energy and strength to get on and off the boat, so prepare for that. Definitely rent a paddleboard as well, as you can do a lot of floating around the island.

Some phones do work with roaming on the island, but I also suggest bringing a deck of cards to play with the new friends you’ll make while you’re there!

I can’t wait to return, and thank you to all that made this trip amazing!

Amazing day - highlight of our trip! We were prepared for the bumpy ride …it’s definitely a bumpy ride…but so worth it! I know my elderly parents would not have enjoyed the bumpy roads nor the bumpy boat ride but it was Fine for us. The beaches and water are absolutely beautiful. The stop along the way was timed perfectly both times for a much needed bathroom and snack break. It was wonderful learning about the Guna people from our driver on the way back.

I've been vacationing in Panama since 2005 and this is by far the best tour I've been on. It was my husband and I and 6 other people, and we all had a blast and thought San Blas was beautiful. We were picked up on time at a hotel in Panama City, the drive was 2.5 hours with a 30 min breakfast stop. The driver, Billy, was very cordial, laughed at our jokes, and told us the history of San Blas. Our tour guides were Abriano and another nice gentleman who spoke English too. The islands were beautiful, the water was great... I just don't think I can describe my experience in writing other than calling it a paradise. We are all very satisfied and will be back to do an overnight tour.

Stunningly beautiful and unique place, that we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit. It is definitely “roughing it” and a cultural experience where you feel like a visitor in a strange land rather than a guest to be catered to, but that is refreshing and interesting compared to so many other tourist destinations.

We could not give this five stars for two reasons:

First, the specific island we were on had a terrible blood-sucking sand fly problem. It was mentioned deep in the listing, but we learned from speaking with people we met who stayed on other islands, that our island “Waiiidub”, had a specifically bad problem with the flys compared to all others.

By terrible, I mean if you stand still anywhere on the island, without wind or a fan blowing on you, 10-20 of the tiny flys immediately land and start feeding. My gf and I ended up with 100s of itchy swollen bites all over our bodies that made it difficult to enjoy our time on the island and impossible to sleep.

Even the locals on our boat tour on day 2 described it as the “only” island with the sand fly problem. This was confirmed by the time we spent on other islands during our tour and didn’t see any flys or discover any new bites.

The second issue, is that other than a few poor quality photos at the very end of the gallery, the photos on this listing are NOT where we stayed. The cabins we stayed in were not “newly built” as described and do not look the same as the ones pictured. Our cabins were similar enough that this would not have been an issue on its own, but combined with the bug problem we felt a bit set up.

If you do book this listing, you will have a great time, but don’t forget lots of bug spray (like we did) and be prepared to wear it throughout your time on the island.

Overall is ok. The ride is very bumpy. Not completely horrible. You will get soaked on a boat unless you sit on a first two front rows. Bring towel or you will have to buy one over there. Out of alcohol not much choices but you can being cooler with your own drinks and snacks. Really jot much to do if you go solo over there. Just ocean. Starfishes were beautiful i like that part the most probably) bring your own snorkel equipment because i do not think the one they provide they clean after each use.

Amazing experience! We decided to book with Tao Travel 365 as they have the best reputation in Panama for providing great service. And we are glad that we did. We had a last minute change of plans as my friend did not feel well and Tao Travel made it possible to re-schedule. We contacted them after hours and within seconds someone was online to help us. We ended up taking the San Blas tour a few days later and had an amazing day from start to finish. Adrian, the driver was so sweet, telling us about his Kuna grand mother and her traditions and Panama history. The weather in San Blas was perfect, bathing in the warm ocean. The only regret we have is that we did not book a longer stay in San Blas. We will definitely be back soon :)

The tour started at 5 am and the driver picked us up promptly. We drove for a few hours on a very bumpy road until we arrived at the shore. Then we took a boat for another 45 minutes to one of the islands. So far no issues. My main issue and concern is that this tour is not delivered as advertised in the description. You are basically paying for a transportation and a small meal. Nothing else. There was no interaction with the Kunas, there was no snorkeling, and there was no guided tour. We were dropped off on a first tiny island where we swam a bit, walked around and then waited 90 minutes for a cold meal. Then we were taken to another island where we walked around for a couple of hours. I was hoping for more interaction and information on the kuna people, and the snorkeling activities they advertised.
