Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Used a debit card to buy tickets. It was really easy. You DON’T need to buy an Opal Card. You don’t need to go on an expensive cruise. Just use the commuter ferries.

This was the ideal package as it allowed us a rapid trip to Manley on the first day where we spent a very pleasant afternoon. These ferries run every 20 minutes so there was virtually no wait when we wanted to return. The following day the same ticket allowed us to do the 2 hour round trip which in addition to Manley gave us additional hop off and on places, zoo, Watson Bay Quarentine Bay and Darling Harbour. Best of all as senior citizans we only had to pay $35 for the ticket. There was a little commentary but it was not that type of cruise. Other more expensive trips may be better suited for that type.

The trip from Circular Quay to Manly remains timeless. I used to catch it to watch Souths play Manly in the 70's & 80's. Also caught it often in the 90's to visit Manly Beach. I love that the old boats, named after Australian icons, haven't been replaced for new. Have lived interstate for 20 years now. Still a lovely day out on the harbour when I'm up here.

The Light Rail is a new addition to Sydney's public transport system where in the City, George Street has been converted into a light rail track. Though the light rail network is quite extensive and offers multiple lines, we mostly used it for faster travel around the City.

The frequency of the Light Rail is often enough that you don't have to worry about waiting for long if you miss one.

If you are pushing along a stroller, the height of the platform and the light rail is the same so this is very convenient.

A friend who visited Sydney told me about the outlet store and where I could get an amazing deal on training gear.

She had family take her and I had to figure out how to do it from centre city.

That is when I came across Shopper Hopper. They would ferry you there and return you back to either Circular Quay or Darling Harbour.

By booking online, I was able to get a return ferry ride for AUS$20.

I could have caught the bus but I would need to pay attention. Plus with the heat and potential bags of things I would purchase, paying a few more dollars seem fine.

They pick you up from Jetty one on Circular Quay. This is generally about 2-5 mins walk towards the Sydney Opera House after getting off at Circular Quay station. It's the only jetty on this side of the harbour pass all the wharfs and ferries.

The generally have several pick up times starting at 10am from Circular Quay.

The two persons crew were welcoming and friendly. It was a gorgeous day and we got to see both the beautiful houses, Sydney Opera House, go under the Harbour Bridge and see the racing catamaran training on our way there and back.

Definitely an easy and relaxing way to get to Birkenhead Point where the outlet centre is.

Will definitely use them again when I return for some shopping.

This is a very busy area of Sydney. Apart from the ferry wharves there is Circular Quay railway station, which is directly above the wharves, and there are buses, trams, taxis and other modes of transport nearby as well. The famous Rocks area is only a few steps away. This part of the Harbour is the place to hop on a ferry and travel to several other parts of Sydney, or just go on a cruise. There are also many cafes, restaurants and Take Away food outlets to satisfy all tastes. And the views are absolutely fantastic. Worth a visit.

Booked a huge van to move a crazy amount of checked baggage as part of an international relocation. If we'd gone with normal cars, we would have needed 3.

Driver was on time, helpful and friendly.

I have been using Luxcar for over 7 years now and it just seems to be getting better. The cars are fantastic, the drivers are all very friendly and efficient and they are never late.
I cannot recommend Ricky and his team.

I relied on the ecohopper online timetable but it didn’t turn up at the Q station. Had to wait 45 minutes. The sign says to wave to ferry down which I did twice but it just skipped it. Be wary.

Toyota Kuga Hiace hitop van reg. 1LF4QD

We’ve rented a Kuga Hiace high top for several weeks. A few days out of Perth we lost one of the flip-up top windows. We maintain that this window is a very lightweight construction and our vehicle is 10 years old with 350,000km on the clock. The winders on our top windows were both defective - probably due to stripped plastic cogs inside the winder-housing. I understand too that this phenomenon happens regularly and I would like to see that Travellers Autobarn makes sure that the window-winders work more effectively. We hope that the company do the right thing and do not charge us for replacement.

Top service from the Welshpool branch in Perth.... a credit to Travellers Autobarn. The team were great getting us off on our way and answering our many questions... Thanks to Telea and Lewis

Still on the west coast so we’re going to return this van to Welshpool depot where we have been offered a newer automatic camper which should, we hope, improve the rest of our long road to Sydney.

    Summary...
*Top side windows...both winding mechanisms need full service/replacement
*Cooker gas top ignition needs service

Other than this the van was clean and functional, seemed to be in good order mechanically.

What an amazing experience I was able to organise for my friend through John. His professionalism and his attention to detail was impeccable. On time, he thought of everything and kept me in the loop the whole way to her pick up. My friend told me she felt like a rockstar from the moment the doors of the Tesla opened to the Pink Moet and the stop offs and sight seeing on the way to the Japanese Bath House. 5 stars all the way!!!

Used Let it Ride after seeing a review online. We weren't disappointed. We were picked up on time and very pleased with the return trip from Sydney Airport to our hotel in The Rocks. After our cruise we were picked up on time for our trip to the airport. Would recommend this service to everyone and will definitely use them again

This was during our tour in Sydney. On Sundays, the city has an offer were you only pay about $3.00 hop on and on any public transportation ALL day including the Metro, but you need an Amber Card. The trains are on time, very clean and comfortable. Down load their app for easy map with closest stop to your destination.

TLDR; If you're into trains, or if you are looking for this particular experience - its great. If you're going to be hyper critical of operational limitations and changes, maybe fly instead.

My experince is based on a Sydney to Perth Gold Class trip via the modified route due to flooding in western NSW. We tried to get Platinum, but it was booked out.

Its a long train trip across a large expanse of land, with everything that entails. There's decent food, mostly decent service and a lot of history to take in. It's an experience worth doing if you're into it, but it isn't for everyone.

I was a bit bummed that we couldn't do the normal route, and that we missed the Broken Hill excursions. Other than that, it was better than I expected. We knew that there were interruptions and modifications about a week in advance, so no issues with communication as such.

The lounge car is comfortable and well stocked. Just keep in mind that its probably best to try and get a long with others on the trip if you want to make use of the lounge car as you'll be spending some time with them. The alcohol is good and largely flows freely. The service is pretty good for the most part, but you spend enough time with the staff that should you become a problem you will be remembered. The climate control on the train is excellent.

The scenery as you pass through the desert is more stunning that you'd expect, but theres a couple of days of it.

On the modified route through VIC, the track can get pretty rough, but you are on a moving train - its going to bounce and jostle no matter what, so keep that in mind. You'll also have to take a coach between Sydney and Goulburn.

You are going to spend some time in a desert for 2 off train experiences. It will be hot. There will be flies. Neither of these things are the fault of the train or the operator. If thats a problem, either don't go or at least don't get off the train when those stops come up.

In Gold Class, the room was slightly larger than I expected when it came to leg room while seated during the day. The bathroom was also a bit better than I expected, albeit very small - but its a private bathroom - on a train... So there's that. I'm 5'10" and found the bed OK. Those over 6' may need to curl up a bit.

We used Water Taxis Combined for the service. I pre-booked and paid the trip online, so was aware the trip was expensive. I was told the trip was 15-20 minutes, but it took slightly longer than that. It is much faster than the River-cat service. The boat driver was most friendly and courteous and the trip very smooth.
