- simonehoare16 contributionsThis tour is a must! The hike was spectacular, with amazing views and Jeff is very knowledgeable which made it also educational. The Finnish sauna is definitely worth doing and whilst the Lake was pretty cold in October you still have to give it a go. The food Jeff cooked on the hike was also great and quite filling. This was a great day out and I'd definitely recommend it. - Nn8 contributionsI was looking for a tour to spend my layover time in Helsinki and chose Darius as he had the best price for it. He picked me up from the airport and took me to the city centre where he showed me the main attractions. He is extremely knowledgeable, and knows everything about Finnish history from centuries ago till today. Also he told me a lot of things about the culture and the way of life of Finnish people which was very interesting. There was no one holding a sign and no driver waiting at arrivals. The driver complained that he had been waiting for an hour (he thinks he had it bad...we were stuck on the tarmac in 31 degrees in Doha for three hours!!). There is no reason for the driver not to know our plane was delayed - a quick Google would have told him. At the public pick up point, one driver confirmed he was waiting for us so we climbed into his TAXI and were then ejected. We weren't his clients at all! His client also didn't know who was picking him up and where. He was very cranky on the phone.
I would not classify this as a "private transfer" at all. The car we were collected in was nothing like the ones on the website. It would have been quicker, cheaper (and potentially safer given the lack of knowledge of the drivers) to have grabbed a taxi (Both drivers were doubling as taxi/uber drivers with a portable Taxi sign in their boots!)...Limo? No.
We felt disappointed. We booked this very expensive transfer (well over $US200) to ensure peace of mind, safety and timeliness to get to our transfer. Instead it was worrying, frustrating, and enormously expensive.
