Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Brian JCork, Ireland135 contributionsHad a enjoyable family walk with the 3 kids, the youngest being 3. It’s about 4.5km in total if you turn right when you enter with mostly downhill when reaching the cross. Really nice views and great to kill a couple of hours.Written 19 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael DWexford, Ireland19 contributionsI've lived in New Ross since 1973 but I'm a Fermoy native. Since my early teens I've loved Barnane and when I go back to Fermoy I make sure to do the full Barnane Walk. From the quay in Fermoy walk west along the paved walk for about 1km. Then cross a style and walk along the river bank for about 1.5km. If it's been raining you'll need water proof shoes. Then leave the river bank and walk through the woods until you come to the road back to Fermoy. I prefer to return by the river and end up at the Grand Hotel for a pint. But sadly the Grand has recently closed. But cross over to O'Neill Crowley Quay and drop in to Lombard's bar if it's open.Written 20 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Theeye01Cork9 contributionsNice piece of history. A gem tucked away in the Glanworth countryside. Amazing to think our forefathers went to such trouble to build so long ago. It’s right beside the roadway so no treking involved. You need to know where you’re going to find it. Written history of the site on plaque nearby telling the origins and date of the tomb and when excavated. It’s know locally as Labacallee or in English as the hags bed. Access is over a stone style to get right into the tomb or if you’ve mobility issues bes to view from the road.Written 27 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MO4975678910Amherst, New Hampshire, United States3,109 contributionsI had wanted to visit this Church because my Father's Father had preached at the Church before leaving Ireland to serve as a Missionary to the Native Tribes in Canada. The Church is on the route of the local town walk, and is located across the river from the Patrick Street shopping area of Fermoy. Out front of the Church there are the three "Statues", and across the street is the Virginia House B & B, a great place to stay run by Leo and Mary. Up the hill are the Barracks areas and the Famine Graveyard. An interesting side note is that the entrance to the church was structured so that when the regiments visited they could enter the building without having to lower the regiment's Standards.Written 2 October 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pmdix2016Edinburgh, UK15 contributionsVisited Fermoy Golf Club in May 2019 with 5 friends. Although a big competition was taking place all of that day the Professional managed to squeeze 6 of us out at lunchtime, when it would have been easier for him to say no. Great value golf and very scenic course with the fastest greens in Europe!
Friendly clubhouse and good basic food served by very friendly staff

It's a small play area but they seemed to enjoy it. It was €7.50 per child for 90 minutes. There is a nice seating area for parents with hot and cold snacks. There is also an area for smaller children. It is worth a trip to occupie the kids if your staying in the fermoy area. I was here for the weekend with my kids and the weather was terrible so it came in handy.Written 29 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
