The gardens here are lovely and there are many paths to wander through. The castle was closed when we were there, but the setting itself is worth the stop.

A beautiful place full of gorgeous, amazing, well cared for animals. I could stay there all day looking at them all. The butterflies are my favorite 🦋Brilliant place to take kids and family.

First time hike for myself although my partner is a fan!! ...I had kitted myself out with some hiking boots, walking poles and layers recommended by previous experienced walkers...as everyone notes the first 30 mins was tough going through boglnd which involved choosing your steps very carefully to avoid being sucked into the wet bog!!!
Once we had managed to get through that stage it was o to the slippery shale which provided its own set of challenges ...was it tough ...yes ...was it worth it ..100%...we had lunch 751metres above and the views were amazing ...photos really do not do it justice when you see those views for yourself!!!.

A must in Donegal! We saw the Turas exhibition in the gallery and then taken round the Derek Hill's House by a very knowledgeable and personable guide Kathleen. The house and history is fascinating, the art, decoration and all the pieces are beautiful, eclectic and individual, provided with hostoryand context, and a lovely, homely, unchanged kitchen. Also told about the history of nearby Glenveagh Castle qnd surrounding area, so a good and comprehensive overview of the region! Short of moving in, I would recommend it!

As someone interested in genealogy I have researched my mothers family in great detail. I discovered that my great grandfather was a "scutcher" and this puzzled me for ages. While visiting the Newmills Corn and Flax Mill I saw and actual representation of the work done by scutchers back in the 1800's. Its a really interesting place to visit and gives you a very visual experience how people produced corn and flax back then.
