    Great tour of Inishowen Peninsula
    Our family tour of Inishowen Peninsula was truly amazing…Joe went way beyond my expectations, with his wealth of information about Ireland and our family’s history, his congeniality and diverse talents (he plays flute and sings)! He helped made my first trip to Ireland one I will never forget!

    Highlight of Donegal staycation
    What a day! Highligh of our stay in Donegal. Please book this amazing tour and enjoy ocean and kayaks. Hugh gave a tour filled with stories, interesting facts. We wil be back. Thank you for an amazing time and tour of 7 Arches.

    Flexible and Fabulous
    We had been planning our long-awaited first trip to Ireland, and while we had a general idea of a few places & things we *had* to take in, it was getting overwhelming to narrow down all the possibilities. Also, wondering what a realistic itinerary would be for a self-drive tour. Connie of Emerald Isle Tours was a lifesaver. She made a custom itinerary that accommodated our own "must-see/do" list, combined with delightful other places and experiences, that made each day exciting, yet personal and comfortable. There were also enough options and flexibility built in, that we could adapt it when we needed to (lingering over coffee near Cliffs of Moher) without throwing off the whole schedule.

    Another plus of having an itinerary, it kept us moving. There is so much to see and do in Ireland, I fear it would have been easy to dally in many places, but then we would have missed out or had to cut short on things that were ultimately important to us! Connie's itinerary didn't make us feel rushed, but it did help with pacing ourselves - allowing enough time to really "visit" a place, rather than just "stop by". And the lodging places were outstanding!

    If you are stuck in your own planning, unable to make a decision, like we were, I highly recommend contacting Connie, she will be the lifeline you need to rescue your vacation with a sane but fabulous experience. We loved our time on the Emerald Isle!

    Great times with Henry !
    In July 2022 we spent 3 days in the company of 'Donegal Tour Guide' Henry Doohan. We'd originally intended to hire a car for our trip but decided to give Henry a try instead. This was a very good decision as his service was faultless, and it meant that I didn't have the stress of driving in unknown parts.
    I'd already furnished him with a list of things we wished to see, and by the end of the time, we'd seen almost all of them, plus many more super things that Henry added during our journeys.
    A highlight of our trip was a visit to Leo's Tavern, the home of Clannad and Enya. This was just in time for some traditional Irish music and dancing, and some delicious Irish Coffee !
    Henry is very knowledgeable about local history, and is polite, friendly, humorous, and an all-round super chap. He runs a spacious Mercedes minibus which he keeps spotlessly clean and which is ideal for viewing the countryside. Every day, Henry not only arrived on time to collect us, but, in fact, he was already there waiting prior to the collection time. Being a local, he knows all the little shortcuts that ensure that no holiday time is wasted.
    We highly recommend that you book your trip with Henry - the 'Donegal Tour Guide' - you won't regret it !

    Incredible Donegal South & West Day Tour
    Joe was an extraordinary guide, and we immediately knew it would be a great day with him the minute we engaged with his remarkable personality! He suggested that we briefly discuss the tour and our preferences so he could ensure he would meet our expectations (which were exceeded). We are seasoned travelers with a strong interest in learning about the history, stories, and culture of the places we tour. Joe, having been born and raised in Ireland, was definitely prepared and uniquely qualified to deliver an exceptional experience.

    As we began our journey, Joe shared the historical background of our first location and described the stops we would make along the Wild Atlantic Way. What stood out to us right away, is that he shared how the history of these incredible places and events impacted those living in these locations during the periods covered, as well as the Irish people living there today. His expressive storytelling provided us with a much deeper understanding of the people of Ireland. We also learned how far back the history of Ireland has been verified (prior to the neolithic era)!

    If you enjoy history and learning about the people and places you visit when traveling, this educational, entertaining and impactful experience is for you! Joe was also a skilled driver with a wonderful sense of humor, which he generously shared with us as he graciously shared the road with others. Thank you, Joe, and Chieftain Tours, for creating treasured lifelong memories and an incredible day of sights, stories, and fun!
