Nice beach with white sand and very close to the waterfall. We could not see the cave as the water was a bit high.
There is a person charging for parking when you arrive at the beach. There is no sign for the charge but the man is quite intimidating and follow you to the car to pay for 3 euros car park. Not sure if it is legal. Be aware!

This beautiful pass is well-worth your time as you drive along the Wild Atlantic Way. The panoramic vista as you drive up the side of the glen is stunning (a little like the glens of Antrim). And when you reach the open moorland at the top, it's quite barren and rugged. Lovely, beautiful & wild

Simple stop enroute to Maghera Beach & Caves. Peaceful area with nothing around. Enjoying the sound of water for a few minutes to recharge before heading on.

Drive to Dolmen centre. On rhs of car park, follow the bridge and path left of church.
Follow path through farmland. Note no dogs allowed due to sheep.
It’s about 10min walk at most. This is the best Dolmen I’ve seen in this area. The cap stone is a wonder. Enjoy

This is a lovely, quiet beach on which you can walk for miles. It has easy access and good parking. Visiting will round out the trip to Ardrara.

All I want to say about our lunch stop at Sheila’s Cafe at the Heritage Centre is that I have never tasted such amazing sea food chowder! The flavour was delicious and it was packed with a great variety of fish and vegetables. Wish I lived closer to make a repeat visit!

What a beautiful facility! Excellent whiskey, gin, and vodka. I knew about the whiskey, but was not aware of the gin and vodka. Grainne, our guide, was very informative, and I learned a lot. Another magical place in Donegal🇮🇪

Unique, classy in an original and absolutely authentic way! This is a beautiful shop - which has been gradually and respectfully transformed, by the next generation, into an intriguing display of the all things warm, woolly, fashionably traditional and tasteful. The ambiance and the hospitality are just wonderful!

It’s been about 20 years since I’ve visited Ireland. Throughout the 1990’s, I visited just about every Summer or Fall. Eventually, looking in Dublin shops at tweed jackets and blankets, I found out that most of them were made in Ardara. I decided to visit Ardara the next year, probably 1997. I stayed in Ardara thereafter for 2-3 days on every visit to Ireland, I loved the pub and music scene there. And I loved to visit with Eddie at his store. I would buy some items, like vests, caps and blankets from him. But I also bought tweed material from him that I took to Thailand and had made into suits with vests and overcoats. I have 5 of them and wear them a lot for 6 months a year in the U.S. They still look great after 20 years, although I had to eventually have them let out a little. I plan on coming to Ireland and Ardara the Summer of 2023, with my 15 year old son. I hope to introduce him to my friend Eddie.

We stumbled into Triona’s on Saturday afternoon and met Ann, (the owner along with her husband Dennis the fifth generation weaver) and Patricia (naturalized to Donegal from Alaska). Ann told us we should come to their weaving center in Audra and see how the weaving was done. We drove out there Sunday but my husband was a bit too enthusiastic; when we arrived the only thing open in town was the church for services. Undaunted we drove back to Donegal and returned to Triona store. Just for fun I tried on a few things with the encouragement of Pauline, and now I am having a gorgeous Tirona hand woven cape, a sweater and a Triona hand woven blanket shipped to the U.S. (Not only do I not have to figure out how to get these things into my already overstuffed suitcase but I save on the VAT!) My husband loved the salt and pepper tweed jackets but wasn’t willing to commit, however Triona has a great website and I am pretty sure he will order on line after we get home to the U.S. Pauline also took us upstairs to see the loom and explained the weaving process to us; today (Monday) I was able to have an actual demonstration by the master weaver! The clothes are absolutely beautiful; there is something special about buying from the people who make the cloth and design the clothing. The added pleasure of our time at Triona was the banter with Pauline and Patricia; we learned so much about Donegal and Ireland from two incredible women with a love of what they do and where they are and who enjoy sharing their wealth of knowledge as well as their joy.

    Absolutely brilliant Irish Pub!
Myself and some friends visited The Corner House at the weekend and had the best night! The band were amazing and the atmosphere was incredible.
If you want a true taste of authentic Ireland, do not miss this place!

I was a little disappointed with my dinner choice ... peppered herrings, new potatoes and peas. Meal was exactly as described .... but I was a bit underwhelmed. My friend had the chowder and said it was fabulous !

I was impressed that out of 10 (ish) items on the dinner menu ... 5 of them were vegan or vegetarian !

They don't take bookings apparently, so first in, best dressed ..... must get really busy in summer !

After walking a nearby beach, we had lunch here and then had a few minutes to look in the shops. This one is not to be missed. It is made up of arts and crafts for locals. Everything the shop was desirable and quite well made. Many art treasures.
