- GG20Miami, FL4 contributionsLoved it! Wasn’t strenuous at all and the scenery was breathtaking!!! - rachsanneGreensboro, NC7 contributionsthe views from the top are amazing - bray & it's promenade below, dublin in the distance, and the Irish Sea all around!
I read that this climb is moderate and not physically difficult but i would not agree at all - it's a straight vertical ascent up 241 meters - i logged 57 floors climbed! No, you don't need special climbing equipment, but i highly recommend shoes with good treads, and dress in layers with a windproof jacket. we climbed it in November on a sunny day, not too cold, but there are exposed areas - the top was very windy! - and the start of it was very wet, muddy, slippery. i highly recommend it but go prepared!Written 4 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were staying at the Wilton Hotel which is just across the road from the main entrance. Weather was great which makes everything better! Lots of open space to explore around the gardens. The views from 'The Big Rock' were great. It's a lovely place to just sit and relax. We had coffee and cake from the cafe in the gardens which we both thoroughly enjoyed (again with great views)Written 28 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ruth1 contributionI found the centre to be small. We were done in about 20 minutes and that was with two children. We read most of the information outlets on the wall. We found it to be overpriced for what it was. Wouldn't recommend it as a outing way overpriced to size of centre and amount of time it takes to go around. Staff I have to say were very knowledgeable and friendly. Gift shop at end was overpriced, with very little choice. I wasn't impressed by any of it.Written 5 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- StephenCrossDublin, Ireland17,610 contributionsThis is a good little theatre in Bray mostly focused on kids. Good parking if you drive all the way to the back. Little cafe too.Written 25 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ann L6 contributionsWent to see this beautiful garden just outside bray.It has the feel of a really old walled garden, with lots of lovely plants. The allotment part of the garden was just as enchanting as the formal garden. The two ponds has at least 20 turtles in each of then.great place to visit. They also have a riding school,Written 2 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David DDevon, UK19,325 contributionsWednesday 27th July we took a stroll along the seafront Promenade in Bray. This popular coastal town is situated on the north end of County Wicklow and is often referred to as the Brighton of Ireland.
The promenade was built in Victorian times, in 1859 and it stretches for a mile and a half along the coast. It starts at one end by Bray Harbour down as far as the foot of Bray Head.
Although it was not the nicest of weather when we were here we did stop at Gino's Gelato for an ice cream.
We did like the shelters, along the promenade that were so colourfully decorated and painted seats.
There was also a funfair on the promenade as well as the Sea Life Aquarium and food and drink kiosks. The promenade was decorated with flags and the stalls, amusements and arcades were dusted down and ready for the 1st August Bank Holiday.
On reaching one end of the walkway, for these still feeling energetic they can continue on to trek up Bray Hill, we did not.
We were here several years ago and it was a perfect vantage point to watch the Bray Air Show, it was held on 23rd July in 2022.Written 7 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has Bray Harbour at one end and stretches to the foot of Bray Head at the other. It has the Victorian promenade along the top, for a mile and a half.
The predominantly pebbled and shingle beach, with some rocks and sandy shoreline, curves it's way along the coast. The beach is washed by the ever changing Irish Sea.
Although it was not the nicest of weather some people were brave sitting on the beach, others were just strolling along enjoying the fresh air.
We did walk along the beach, with a ten year old great nephew with us, clambering over rocks and chucking stones into the sea was mandatory.
Was impressed to see permanent signs along the beach, reminding visitors to pick up three pieces of plastic from the beach as they leave.Written 7 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joe Q20 contributionsKids loved it. We played loads of games and had a really nice time. It’s a lovely place. - Dianne BChilliwack, Canada100 contributionsIf you like swans this is the place to see them. There are a few benches to sit and view the birds but most are just walking by the water front on route to other places.Written 9 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
